Tent!

I'm no expert, but I swear by the Quechua popup tents:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...52BSI%26otn%3D4

for example (cheaper if you have a decathlon near you, mine's in Stockport which is a bit of a trek).

It's nice to be able to unzip the bag, throw it in the air, dig out your sleeping bag (in case you are in no fit state to get it out later), put the pegs in and head off for that first cider!

Ideally if two of you are going you need to get yourself a 4 man tent with a bit of a porch. A two man tent will be enough room for two people lying down and nothing else! In my opinion you should go for a dome tent, you posted a link to a tunnel tent which requires guy ropes to keep it up, not ideal at a festival! A dome tent is sturdy and easy to pitch and doesn't need guy ropes (unless a hurricane comes in!). I would also go for outer pitching first. I'm sure Vango and Coleman tent pitch inner first which means that if it's raining you are pitching the inner bit of your tent (which won't be waterproof) in the rain so it's going to get soaked!

I have a 4 man tent all to myself and I have the GELERT TORNADO 4. It is a doddle to pitch and I would happily share mine with somebody knowing I have enough room. The porch is big enough for wellies, boots, booze etc.

It is outer pitching first and takes me, on my own, about 10 minutes. No guy ropes required.

for a 2 man.. at 4 meters long its a little big. Not sure whereabouts in gods country you are but theres a Decathlon in Sheffield, was there 2 weeks ago and bought a 2" XL. folds out in seconds and folds away in acouple of mins, the porch is a wee bit small but good for leaving muddy stuff outside the sleeping area.

Depends if your going with a group as its not high enough to sit in.

Don't listen to this, If you dont peg the guy ropes down and keep the tent taut, rain will come through when the outer gets blown against the bedroom material. Also puddles will form in any loose material.

If your going for a Gelert get a Colima 4. two porches, one porch for entering with your wet muddy stuff the other for going out clean.

I would recommend a tent with a higher roof as its a pain in the arse crouching all the time. A coleman celcius 3 is ideal. http://www.wildday.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?id=6063 you might be able to get one a bit cheaper elsewhere.

I bought one last month and i LOVE it...i keep popping and unpopping it in my living room!

Although I can sit in mine..may cos im a short arse....not sure how it'll stand in the rain but everything else about it i think is just fantastic....even the shape of it packed doesn't bother me, being a mum with 2 baby change bags everywhere I go!

GO QUECHUA!!

Check out the Vango Alpha range!

I've just ordered the 200(2man) for just me and there's a 300 and 400 version! I checked the 300 and it costs £40! the 200 cost me £30 so I guess the 400 will be £50!

It's got taped seams and HH of 2000! so very waterproof! Dome design aswell but only drawback is inner first pitching!

I have a gelert tornado 5 tons of space for two people and good headroom pitches outer first which means that the inside shouldn't get wet if it was raining when you pitch.

You shouldn't have to worry about water getting in if the tents well made as the poles hold the outer skin taut and water only gets through a double skin tent typically when the two skins touch.

you mention that two of you will be sharing a tent then you can afford to pick up a slightly larger tent by splitting it up between yourself and your friend. of course you have to be able to trust your friend you don't want them forgetting the poles or something

Vango Alpha range is inner pitch first design, if you can afford it, the outer-pitch first Sigma range is better.

I've got the Vango Simga 300+ with two entrances, so that I can get a nice cross-flow of air to prevent tent-oven.

However, I've got my eyes on a Quechua tent. I just need to make the trip to Decathlon Canada Water, hopefully after my exams in May.

I did email Decathlon about mail-order, they replied that they have plans for a central warehouse, and when that is installed they hope to offer a mail-order service!

The pop-up tent has come of age! Check the Vango Swift 300 out.

£100, 3 man, seperate living and sleeping area, 2000mm hh and a fairly small pack to carry(4.8kg and 76x8cm).

The only thing I'd prefer is for it to be more waterproof, maybe they'll make a 2 man version also!
