cejx
OK. I've been going to Glasters for years and always camp at Pennards. Getting to the festival, we drive through Bath and Shepton Mallett, and end up parking off the A37 on the blue route.... coming in pedestrian Gate B. A right bloody hike to Pennards I can tell you... especially as we are now older and creakier! The question being, it looks a shorter walk if we park up off the A361 and come through Ped Gate D onto the disused railway track. Is the A361 route easily accessible when driving through Shepton Mallet? The fine guide directions are a little ambiguous. ta. andymk
If you want to park in the west car parks it's best to come in via Glastonbury town so may be a bit of a detour and go via Wells rather than Shepton Mallet
pie_and_a_pint
If you come through Shepton it's dead easy for the blue route but a faff to get round to the red route.
paulo999
I think the question, distilled, is "Camping in Pennards, East or West car parks?" If so.... West, Red Route. It's flat land, and at PGD you are pretty much straight on the railway track, which is 'express' to Pennards, and all the utter madness therein. andymk
i am in the same situation, i am camping in pennards this year but i will be coming from the east, it does look much easyer from PGD to pennards, is it realy that much hassle to go round the the west from the east? and if so is it worth the hastle for the shorter walk? or should i just go for the east...
