Starmer's lot (McSweeney) won it by the fact they understood how to win an election in this country with the system we have and the coalition of people they needed to appeal to. Boris Johnson and Cummings got this too. Corbyn didn't and couldn't. Labour also won because they were so much more popular than Tories. Back in 2019 everyone was going on about Johnson's appeal and how they would be in power for ages...now labour do something not too dissimilar and everyone is going on about how it isn't fair and Starmer is sh*t and this won't last. I actually think labour will be in power for at least two terms, because Starmer isn't stupid and lazy like Johnson, there are no maniacs waiting in the wings like Truss, and because the right is split and i don't think that is getting fixed anytime soon. -
I use the shuttle buses every year from Salisbury station: it's pretty straightforward, as long as you prebook. I've generally managed to get the tickets the day before, and if you miss your slot, buses are every 30 mins and they'll squeeze you on the next time

A total walloper, yes. But which bands actually did that? The only one I can think of that made any sort of political statement were Kneecap. -
I made the mistake of thinking I could go from five days at the farm, straight back to Frome on the first train out (with no sleep overnight), kip a bit at Frome, then launch straight into the 23 hour journey back to Melbourne. Err, no. Not at 46. I arrived back feeling OK, but once I'd done the essentials (shower, unnpack, laundry, food), it hit me. After night one, I had a shocking sore throat and total fatigue; tell-tale signs for you know what. But the test said negative, and I think I just picked up a cold at some point either at the festival or on the plane(s) home. Last night was the worst - proper fever and bad headache. The drinks celebrating the election result won't have helped.
