Tickets ID?

I'm sure I've heard somewhere that you could be asked for ID to prove that it's you on the photo on the ticket.

Is this true?

Surely you are not expected to carry around a pasport or driving licence all weekend? It's bound to get lost.

Excuse my ignorance but this will be first Glasto.

I've carried my driving license to 10 festivals, I take it out everytime I go out(twice a week)yet still haven't lost it. Don't worry there's not a chance in hell you'll lose it.

I think it's only for as you go in the gate, not like random spot checks or anything.

I wasn't even checked on my way in last year.

You shouldn't need ID unless you don't look like the photo on your ticket for some reason... ;)

If you do want to take ID (say, for age verification at the bars - which might be an idea if you look anything LIKE under 21) and taking your driving licence bothers you that much, get a free Citizencard which will serve as ID and matter less if you lose it. Alternatively, take your passport / driving licence and leave it in the free lockups.

No ID required. Check out the ticket FAQ?. One of the benefits of the photo system, is to not require people to carry ID all through the festival (ME mentioned this on introduction a few years ago).

The photo is an anti-tout system, all that matters is that you look like the person on the ticket. Worst case, they have inquiry cabins where they may ask you additional questions. There is no need to carry ID (unless you don't look 18 and wish to buy alcohol at the bars).
