I dont read tabloids. Lazy of you to throw that at me.

University degrees, like A levels etc, are utterly devalued nowadays. The day polytechnics became allowed to call themselves universities the humble degree died.

Guys - I thought this thread was about being disappointed with the headliners, not disappointment in the youth of today / old age gits running the country.

I agree with Glastoman - headliners would have had me wetting myself 15 years ago. Now they're end of the day nostalgia gigs - and when I've had a few tinnies, and if the mood takes, screaming along to Parklife / Dancing in the Dark / Hurricane or whatever - well there's worse ways to spend the evening, especially if there's nothing better on the other stages.

no no no you are missing my point completey. You are not responsible for the failure of your generation, of course not. I totally accept that it is the fault of others that your generation is in the state it is.

But my point is that your generation IS is in a state, and as such is a generation of poorly educated, in poor health wasters with very poor prospects. It is the most pitiful generation in decades. It is not your fault. But you are an inferior generation.

The result of years of governmental mismanagement. An entire generation is, alas, a complete waste of resources.

Even a 'weak' degree is more than what previous generations had. In my first year there were 900 biology students, split between 3 lectures. I can say with 100% confidence that 10, 20, 30 or 40 years ago my university wouldn't have had nearly the same amount of people in a 'strong' academic area.

I judge a person on their own merits, not my prejudged views of what a person would be like. You seem like a very bitter person, who kicked you in b*ws this morning?! lol You really do not like young people and don't trust what we can offer. Shame, shame

Yeah...anyway...

I must admit that I wasn't too excited when the headliners were announced, but on the advice I saw on here and from my Dad I downloaded a couple Bruce Springsteen albums and now I can't wait to see him. Only problem being, I keep seeing things mentioned about age, are they going to stop people under a certain age watching him? At 22 I thought my days of trying to get fake ID were over...

Blur I'm looking forward to seeing as I've liked them since I was younger and only managed to see them once at Reading and even then was stuck that far back I was in a different post code.

I know it's great to have a line up full of bands that are brilliant, but I can't be the only one that is kind of hoping there's not too many brilliant bands that I can't miss there because it takes away time that I can be doing the random things I always end up loving. At the end of the day, anyone who turns up at Glastonbury festival will have a great time if they have an open mind.

In my case it isn't a generation thing at all (it's all about the music, man!). Leonard Cohen was amazing last year and i can't wait for Springsteen this year. On the other hand i'm not a big Neil Young fan. I'm looking forward to Blur this year but i'm not bothered about Kasabian. I like some old music, i dislike some old music. Same with new music.

Surely this is the majority opinion.

Listen! You can all F%$k off. When I was a lad all we had to play with was shingles (and I don't mean the kind Uncle Shaky used to sing about not having time to fix, the lazy prick!). Did I turn out bad? Actually yes, I'm a total nut job who would kill you soon as look at you! Fortunately for you my Alzheimer means I probably won't recognise you after a couple of minutes! Really, the youth of today! Who are they again?

Nurse! I've got somebody elses feet on again!

Right.. this really gets on my tits..

Im Fairly Young.. And still in school, And i hate all this crap!

To be honest, music these days is pretty poor.. there are a few good bands, smaller bands and a few bigs one. But why in gods name people are complaining about neil young and the other headliners is beyond me!

Neil young is a massive influence! and deserves the place he has for the amount of quality albums/gigs..

I saw him last year and oh my god. He is the greatest live artist I have EVER seen.. Some people really need to listen to alot more of his stuff instead of hearing like one song and saying "He doesn't Deserve it"

When people should stop worrying about the headliners and just think about what other wonderful things they will be doing, i mean for chirst sake! its glastonbury!

Such as last year, with Jay z.. I don't like him.. SO i went and did something else, i didn't complain on the forums or anything because i was too excited about Glastonbury and all the magic about it, Because it is truely an amazing place. So please, stop with all these silly.. silly threads.. and just be happy you're going because im sure there are alot of people who would want your ticket! So please.. for god sake! Stop with all the negativity.

Thank you

No you didnt. It was spot on.

I am introducing Glasto to 11 virgins this year, and if the attitude of a lot of people on this baord is a reflection on how this years festival is going to be, then Im not too sure if I should be introducing them at all....
