Day Tickets

I reckon they are gonna need to do day tickets, cos they obviously aint got shit left on the lineup front. All of the forward momentum has been lost on this one, stuart galbraith's public criticism of other festivals and their lineups have kinda blown up in his face now, and made him look a dick.

Day tickets are inevitable.

Agreed, when the festival first got announced there was a lot of talk about building hype through the stream of band announcements still to be made and it appears they have cocked that up as well.

there are no serious rumours and there couldn't be less hype surrounding this festival IMO.

So yeah, expect day tickets. I'd have expected a price drop if it wasn't going to p1ss off the fans who had already bought tickets.

Agreed but Sonisphere is a 3 year deal at least so they will want to keep the handcore happy. IE those who have already bought tickets.

But yeah, I wouldn't completely rule it out. I wonder how ticket sales are going.

TBH if you would have told me this time last year that I could see Metallica, NIN, Alice and Frank Turner at the same festival... I would have paid whatever the price!!

Last year Connect festival was struggling to sell tickets and 2 weeks before the festie they started selling them buy one get one free. Those who had already bought their tickets were outraged but were refused any refund.

Funnily enough it's not on this year!

Organisers of this summer's Sonisphere festival have announced that day tickets will be available priced at £67.50 for either day and will go on sale at 9am on Thursday 4th June and that will not include any hidden extra costs like booking fees as the organisers abolished those weeks ago.

The event will have one main arena with a stage at either end. As well as Metallica, who top the bill on the Sunday with a full two-hour set, there are 18 confirmed exclusive festival appearances and over 30 acts playing. There are also acts confirmed for the Bohemia Area, with further additions to that line-up expected soon. For the line-up details as available, please click here.

Weekend tickets are priced at £132.50, or £157.50 with camping. Lockers are priced at £10, and parking is also £10 in advance or £20 on the day. And early arrival camping entry ticket is priced at £10, and tickets for camper vans are priced at £40.

Entry to the festival will now be free of charge for under 12s. Parents should purchase their own tickets and then take their child with them to the Box Office on arrival to be issued with a complementary wristband. Please note that proof of age may be asked for. Sonisphere has abolished booking fees for ticket buyers and is issuing refunds to fans who have already paid out for them. There is also a package deal for tickets which also offers the new Guitar Hero: Metallica game.

eFestivals will have links for you to buy tickets when on Thursday.

So whether your preference is Metallica, NIN and Mastodon or Linkin Park, Heaven & Hell and Taking Back Sunday, one thing is clear, whichever day you want to go, it will be a day full of some of the greatest rock music on the planet at the moment.

Little chance of the Saturday selling out

The day splits really irk me. Virtually every band I'd booked my ticket on the strength of has been placed on the Sunday. I figured there'd be a bit of an imbalance, but nothing that extreme. Ah well, I can just chill on the Saturday and maybe check out a few bands.

Was checking the official forums and the people there seem pretty convinced it's the sub, then second stage headliner, then main stage headliner. So Nin, A7x then Tallica'.

Not really bothered about the order myself tbh. Looking forward to all the bands.
