Booze

Ive seen that a great thing about glasto is that you're allowed to take you booze to the stages, but how would you carry it??

I'm a penniless student who can't afford to buy from bars alot, and so I want to take most my own drink, but do you have to carry round a few cans of beer?? Or keep going back to the tent (I expect this would take too long)??

Firstly if your bothered about the distance to your tent you need to have a good look at the map and camp near the areas you are going to spend the most time.

You can take as much as you want and whatever booze you want in to the site as long as its not in glass bottles.

Get your self a little day sack that why you can fill it up with some cans and bottles of spirits and mixers. Also some where to keep other stuff like toilet roll.

Jesus Christ, I've seen some completely clueless people ask some stupid, pointless questions in my time but this is getting ridiculous.

I usually take some sort of 'bag' with me. Then, before I go for a wander I consider:

1) what I fancy drinking

2) how long I'll be gone for

I then put some drinks (and maybe even a jumper!) into my 'bag' and then 'carry it around with me'.

If you want to meet up on site I'll be giving a one off presentation of my now famous tutorial 'How to Find Your Arse (Using Both Hands)'.

Hee hee.....nothing like a good dose of sarcasm to cheer up a Saturday morning!

I always find bags of wine the best...I'm gonna take 4/5 this year, with a litre of gin and vodka for night wandering. Bags of wine are ace, can get a nice one from Iceland for £4.50 and just bung it in a bag with your waterproof and loo roll! I tend to buy my mixers there cause I can't be bothered lugging loads of fizzy drinks.

Beers are good but wine wins! Easier to carry, cheaper, and there is loads of it

Thanks for reminding me: the jumper is to be worn - do not at any stage attempt to drink it!

Im opting for less beer and more vodka, taking a 2 litre bottle of lemonade/any other panda pop will do :) and putting a load of vodka in it should be fine, easy to carry, tastes good and you should have plenty of room for 'said jumper' (sorry if i pronounced that wrong, is it 'jump-per'? .... sounds facinating)

Ive seen people pushing around crates of beer in wheel barrows, once the beer is finished they often use the wheelbarrow as a makeshift bed or for transport if one of their mates get seriously sloshed and passes out. :)

If you like wine, the boxed wine wiv the tap is good coz you can take the box off and just have the bag, which makes more room in ur luggage for more wine/spirits/beer etc.

This year im using a small fold away loading trolley to take crates of cans coz my boyfriend is coming this year, and when we finish all the beer, it will be good for taking our luggage back to the bus.

Last year i used 2litre plastic bottles and decanted wine into them, i wont be doing that this year coz due to the weather, the wine got flat and warm. :D When i finished my wine i couldnt be bothered to go back to tent for more, so i treated myself to some nice cold beers from the calsberg tent, it wasnt that expensive either. :)

I second the wine - beer is just too heavy. I'll also take either a hip flask (if I'm feeling posh) or a plastic bottle (If I'm honest with myself and admit that I'm not) with spirits in. I went vodka last year but am not a huge fan of neat warm vodka (out of the freezer though is another matter  ), so this year will be rocking a nice whisky. It's a little more money, but should be worth it!

Does anyone know if the wine wil freeze if you chuck one of those boxes in the freezer. Coz i know spirits don't, but beer will??
