Kids tickets.....just what has been going on ?

Absolutely amazed and delighted to be able to get 2 tickets over the weekend for the girlfriend and eventually her kid. However we had to be a little crafty for the kids ticket and wondered if anybody could add some insight.

When we first got through on Friday we were able to buy an adult one, but it continually told us that kids tickets were all sold out. Had a think over the weekend and weren't too comfortable with the idea of trying to get him in free as a 12 year old, he's 14 and what the hell would happen if we got there and got stopped at the gate for ID. Could hardly bundle him home in a cab.

Anyway, we re-registered him as a 16 year old over the weekend and hence were able to buy him an adult ticket on Monday.

This all seems a little odd, what are the organisers doing ? Controlling/manipulating the crowd profile ? Why do they have kids tickets in the first place if the price is the same ?

Happy to be goin, but just a little curious.

Just to confirm the statement made that the kid was re-registered as an adult......that isn't entirely true.

The kid was purely re-registered, no one asked the age on registration, so no untruths were told.
