This will be my first year at Rockness but I've been to quite a few festivals in my time - the basic essentials I'd advise anyone to bring are; money, bog roll, pot noodles, plenty of drugs (including booze, cigs & painkillers) fruit, barocca, glow sticks and did I mention drugs?

The truth of the matter is you can turn upto festivals with your ticket and a healthy wallet, nothing else. You can buy everything there from tents to condoms, drugs to jackets, beer to soap. My mates and I have done this before and we managed fine.

This is what I normally take though.....

-money

-ticket

-tent

-sleeping bag

-camping bed

-pillow

-drink

-toothbrush, toothpaste, facewash, large bottle(for water), babywipes, deoderant, condoms, aftershave, hair gel

-kilt, jeans, shorts, tshirtsX4, boxersX4, socksX4, hoodiesX2, water proof jacket, sporran, boots and trainers

-torch, batteries, plastic cups, toilet paper, black bags, shades, cd player+cds, camera, house key

-towel

This all gets packed into a 90 litre bag and the drink onto a fold away trolley. I buy a chair when I'm there.

Some people bring stuff to cook with but I can't be assed with that <_<

I think that's everything for me.

I think cigs were reasonably priced last year like £6.00 for a 20 deck. It's more I know but they could charge more. Some people walk around selling strange Jamacian ones etc for cheaper but I can never find em! I don't smoke but at a festival I do.

Man!!! Thats a lot of shit to bring to a festival.

Overkill is the word that spring to mind, its a weekend away not a friggin 2 week holiday!!

Think minimal man. Cash, fags, bevvy, narcotics, sleeping bag and some mates so u can use their shit!!

How is that a lot? My friends do pretty much the same, as long as it can all go in one bag I'm happy. I ain't no scrounger either so using friends 'shit' ain't an option. I can say with 100% confidence I will be fresher than yourself for the whole weekend, it's worth carrying that stuff.

You couldn't imaging the amount of times I've heard-;"I wish I had thought of that!"
