For 2009: Your best eclectic, outta left field, can't miss acts

In past Glastonbury experiences, I have either been dragged along or dragged mates along to acts which weren't big at the time, but one or the other of us had heard that the act in question was a can't-miss. I am thinking of someone original in the way they *performed*, someone memorable and unique and someone we might all miss if someone didn't make some noise on their behalves. I am thinking of acts like

- Ozomatli

- Seasick Steve

- Carnival Collective

So out of the Confirmed or TBC'd artists from the lineup, who are the acts who you would drag your friends to go see that might otherwise slip below the radar?

Bonus points for YouTube clips...

Kevin Eldon in the comedy tent, he seems to be there every year, and has been in so many huge comedy things it's untrue. He only does 10 minutes or so once during the festival, and it's special. Can't say much about it, but don't worry if you hear shortly before hand that he's been cancelled, stay in the tent.

No footage of his glastonbury shows, but here's something you may have seen by him

I've heard Bob Springsteen on the Cube stage (or some shit ... the one with its back to the other stage, up towards Big Ground) is supposed to be the next big thing. Miss him at your peril, don't blame me if he's an utter load of w*nk.

Good stuff all - loving the Lancashire Hotpots. Keep em coming folks!

Edited to say the Mummers look good quality as well. Just the sort of thing you would stumble across randomly, and come away smiling, thinking you had discovered them all for yourself.

Check out banco de gaia. They closed the croissant neuf (I think) last year on the Sunday - brilliant alternative to a main stage headliner and they absolutely tore the roof off.

They produce everything from ambient breaks to techno, to world influenced psy chill. Brilliant.

I'll be there mit bells on
