How do you cope?

Music chosen to write this post to - youtube: Elbow - one day like this; Glasto '08

What's worse than watching Glasto re-runs on the beeb? Watching it live on BBC2/3.

Last year, I was back in Reading by 9.30am and in work by lunchtime (straight out for a pub lunch with loads of people who only know Glastonbury from the Sun & Mail. It brings you down with a bump, but you also feel like you are walking a foot higher than everyone else, because you know they will never understand how much fun you were having 20 hours ago.

This year I have managed to keep my wristband on. Some people mock me or tell me to cut it off, however, everytime I look at it the memories come flooding back (more so the first couple of months - now it's a symbol of the future).

Well worth having something planned soon after to look forward to - holiday/festival/BBQ/night out (I have Latitude).

Mr Garvey has now finished, and so shall I (yes it took me 7 mins to write, but wasn't sure what was going to come out unbtil the track started).

Last year was my first Glastonbury and it blew every other festival I've ever been to out of the water! What I couldn't get over though was the unbearable emptiness and sadness that followed when it was all over. Maybe the lack of sleep was a lot to blame for the tears that were non-stop Monday/Tuesday. How does everyone else cope? Does everyone suffer the withdrawl as bad? Does it get easier??

I can't wait for this year!

yeah deffo had this. It helps to have another festival booked...i know its not glasto - but somthing to look forward to.

if you cant do that - mabye a camping trip, long weekend away somwhwere?

I have to do this, as glasto is early in the summer, i dont want the rest of my summer to be on a downer. B)

edit to add... i get that ...you know feeling, like the worlds not a nice place, and like Katster would say 'why cant glasto be life'...that fades in time...you just have to distract yourself with other things you like to do.

Just a suggestion.

I believe leaving on Sunday night can give you a bigger problem than leaving on Monday.

If you leave on Sunday night then somehow you brain can believe the festival is all still going on without you.

On Monday morning the site looks completely different, its half empty and cranes are lifting down speakers from the Pyramid stage. You are left in no doubt that the show is over and it really is the time to say goodbye.
