going it alone

well, i thought i was all sorted to go to glasto with 5 of my mates. 2 finally decided against it, 2 had financial disasters at the last minute and couldn't afford it, and one was just too late and found they'd all sold out.

so now it's just me, and i'm really not sure whether to go or not. a friend has offered to put me in touch with some friends of hers who're going, which would be ok i guess, so long as they're up for it. but if that falls through i'm really not sure what to do.

the daft thing is, when i'm there with mates i'll talk to anyone, and usually do, but i'm not at all sure it'd pan out like that if i was there all alone.

the idea of missing glasto when i don't absolutely have to, fills me with horror. but i suppose it'd even worse to go and not enjoy it.

has anyone else tried going alone? does anyone have any recommendations?

thanks.

Said it before, i always go alone if i can. So much more fun having the freedom to meet random people or just poll off by yourself, with no pressure to see things other people want to see, or to meet up with people at X time.

Glasto's ace on your own, do it!

If your mate is still interested there are still a few tickets left in the resale... Linky...

If you do end up by yourself just go for it, you'll have a whale of a time!!

You could always join up with some of the crew here in one of the efests camps, either /index.php?showtopic=111372"> which is on Pennards Hill or /index.php?showtopic=119056&hl=funk">camp funk in Kidney Mead

hey jools

i usually go in a massive group of people but this year its just me and the brother in law .. i had a post going on the chat board about being lonely at glasto because i was worried being there with just one person and everyone has really perked me up about it, everyone at glastonbury is so friendly,

where you coming from?

your welcome to come camp with us, we were planning on recruting as many mini groups as we can lol

there is even a e fests camp which were thinking of going to camp at,

my bro in law is fine being on his own for long periods .. hes not a loner though lol

me im not good for more than an hour in my own company lol i need people to talk to so im planning on making loads of festival buddies

but check out the other thread and if you want to meet up with us your totally welcome too.

Being alone at Glasto is a contradiction in terms. You'll never be alone at Glasto unless you choose to.

I went solo one year when my two normal friends couldn't make it and met up with a great group who helped me put up my tent and really made me feel at home.

LOL. "Got no one to go with, shall I bother?". Of course it's worth bothering. Just go! It would be SILLY not to just because you've got no one to go with!

Nothing wrong with going by yourself. If anything I actually prefer it. I can do my own thing when I want. One day I could loads of different bands I like, whilst another I could watch hardly any bands atall and spend most of the day in the Greenfields or wherever. Complete freedom to what I want, when I want. Plus I chat to various people too.

Loads of people goto Glastonbury on their own!

There are people i know going this year, although they're acquaintances rather than friends. So i've decided to do it alone (they're around if i really need them).

I'm arranging a lift through this site and hopefully that'll be my starting point for a brilliant festival and a load of new friends.

Can't wait.

sounds like may be the place for you. have a look here. /index.php?showtopic=111372&hl=camp+triangle">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.p...l=camp+triangle there are loads of people of all ages intending to camp there and loads of solo glasto-goers. it'll be my first year in the triangle, but it sounds like a great laugh.

edit: also join the group (in 'my festivals groups' at top of page).
