I have also started to attempt the pre glasto fitness battle. I need to lose weight and tone up so far I've managed to lose 10lb in the 2 weeks by just cutting out evening nibbles ie crisps and choc. I've also started a food diary which helps me get my 5 a day and realise that I'm not eating for hunger late on just for comfort B)

Also to give me more motivation I have a fav old pair of jeans that I am determined to get into for Glasto that are hanging in the wardrobe just waiting for me!

As for getting to the gym need a little more motivation but no real excuse as I live a 5 minute walk from one.

I dont own any scales and actually have no idea what I weigh. I was 7 stone before kiddies. I was 9.5 stone while heavily pregnant. Last time i checked was last summer and i was about 8 stone. thats ok. dont mind it, its more the tonning and being able to dance like mad without getting too knackerd.

I'd say your best bets are spinning definitely, works really well particularly if you've got a "Leader" doing a proper routine on it with you, there should be classes at the local gym a few times a week.

Proper sit-ups too, variate it, get a medicine ball, not just the traditional ones, abs are a strange muscle, they become used to certain types of excercise so you could do, say, 50 sit ups a day for a month, then after that it wouldnt be doing anything, just treading water in terms of toning.

Hope thats some help B) Good luck Gals

I attempted a diet in January, but my irregular hours of my job makes it soo hard to get into any kind of eating routine / exercise routine. I also get my meals paid for me at work, but I eat where the service users want to eat, and as they are mainly teenagers, that usually involves McD's and KFC... Its too hard to resist free meals!

Every week im like right ok its 9 weeks, il start this week. Ok, its 8 weeks il start this week.

But its 7 weeks now, so il DEFFO start this week! lol

I've taken up

which is hardcore so will be super fit for glastonbury this year :-)

I often lose half a stone from all the walking I do at glastonbury.. even factoring in all the PieMinister pies and carrot cakes B)

Don't need to lose any weight as such but could do with toning up.

Done a fair bit of hillwalking this year as well as a few decent hikes but in the past few weeks the weather has been lousy on any days I've pencilled in and as I'm quite inexperienced I don't want to be navigating on steep hills at 900m! Last decent day I had I climbed these. B)

The Cobbler (Ben Arthur) - 884m

Ben Narnain - 926m

Climbing hills certainly gives you a good work out, especially your legs. Good cardio workout if you are climbing for prolonged periods as well.

Have done a bit of running now and then but I plan to run at least 3 or 4 times a week from now to the festival.

Also cycled round the Isle of Cumbrae today which is 10.25 miles. Did it in 55 minutes so a decent pace, especially as the last 4 miles were into a really strong wind!

Hopefully I shall be knocked into shape by the time the festival comes round.

I've increased the amount of alcohol I'm drinking each week in training for glasto.

Also started back at the gym, and will also add in some long walks each day closer to the time. Aim to get as much training in as I possibly can. Working and at uni, doesn't allow so much though.

i go to the gym almost daily , lift weights 4 days a week, cardio 3 times a week

i eat pretty well too

if you can, the best time to do cardio is in the morning on an empty stomach..to burn bodyfat

around 45-60mins to get in top the fat burning zone at65-75% max hr

I've been trying to get in shape too, cycling 5-7 miles each day. Sadly the weathers been crap here the last few days, so I'm off for a late pint!

My better half has just hit the hay, (work in the morning) and I've nothing on til 12 in the morning. Oh the joys of the Rock N'Roll. Not. I never thought I'd say it but I'd love to have a reason to get up early every morning again!

Anyway, Bulmers here I come!

I've been doing a 5k walk 3 times a week for the last 3 weeks.I'll do this up until Glasto. For the first 6 weeks I carry a rucksack at half glasto weight, then at full weight. It makes the walk onto site a breeze. This has worked for me for the last 5 glastos

I started last year as I decided that I'd do no more festivals as a fattie. Been going to the gym 4-5 times a week, and now I've started kick boxing as well B) I've also started doing long walks to get those walking muscles working.

I've not lost as much weight as I would have liked, but realistically I've realised that you can't go from being fat, to the cover of mens health in one year  Its definitely true that its the weekend where you put most of you weight on. Still, I've lost 1 1/2 stone, and gone down 2 trouser sizes which I've very happy about B)

But with 7 weeks to go, I've still got time to get even fitter!
