UPDATE: blog.3g.co.uk just added the following:

Back for 2009 is the highly successful and updated GlastoNav, a downloadable mobile application providing the ultimate interactive guide to Glastonbury. Last year saw over 15,000 festival goers download the application. This year a brand new feature means festival goers will also be sent alerts for money-can’t-buy ‘side of stage’ competitions to see some of the top bands playing this years festival. Existing functionality enables the user to create their own personalised line up. Once downloaded, the service is completely free, easy to use and available across any mobile network on the majority of UK handsets.

Cost = zero, with the Orange Chill and Charge tent.

Queues = sod all to begin with then manic by the later stages of the festival (as everyone has run out of juice).

A solution is to buy a cheap non-brand spare battery and charge it before the off.

I tried to get glastonav last year, but for some reason it wouldn't download to my phone. from what I have heard though it is a good little app to have, simply to organise your days and find those secret gigs.

I presume there will be an all singing all dancing one for iphones and such like.

I ran outta battery last year, and needed to go to the chill'n'charge tent last year, it was a right mission!

you really need to make friends with whoever has the connection that you need.

on the plus side it is a good place to meet new people, and you all have at least one thing in common... we were all too stupid to turn our phones off at night!

  • 2 weeks later...

they've updated the page for 2009 now.

http://www.glastonav.co.uk/

obv the app hasn't been released yet, but there's a "sign up for more info" box. my glasto mobile is the cheapest piece of shit ever (don't take what you can't afford to lose), so will no doubt be unable to run this.

what's the betting there won't be an iphone version?
