Off to see Cage The Elephant tomorrow night

Got tickets to see Cage the Elephant upstairs in the O2 Acadamy Newcastle tomorrow night, has anyone seen them before ? i've listened to the album which is a bit bit hit and miss but i've heard they are supposed to be really good playing live. what am i in for ?

they are also rumoured to be playing some festivals this year as well as touring

As for Cage, they're pretty energetic live, Everyone will go nuts, especially if the venues small

The music should be good, you've heard the album so you'll already know its like a weird-hard-to-define, KOLish but with rapping, rock style hybrid

venue is quite small, upstairs at acadamy 2, shame cos they were supposed to be playing the uni basement which is an excellent venue, low ceilings, beer flying, crowd surfing, people going mental that sorta stuff.

when i've seen bands at acadamy 2 its always been a bit more refined !

but hey, £9 a ticket, so cant really whine that much.

as for the style, been trying to describe it to some of the lads and its in a bracket of its own !

My mates band are supporting Cage the elephant on the 19th of may in a pub in wigan, so i'm going to watch them for support. never heard of cage the elephant before but my mate says they're quite big in america. only £4 for a ticket so not complaining tbh.

Saw them last year in Cambridge. Awesome, and very energetic.

yeah it was an excellent gig, supported by Bleached Wail and Young Rebel Set who were both pretty good as well. Cage the Elephant were loud with the lead singer jumping around like someone having a fit whilst singing ! The crowd went mental for them

We went to see them a the beginning of the year in a small venue in Aberdeen and they were awesome! Great energy and good banter!!

Hope they do some more gigs soon!!

they played 3 or 4 new tracks last night and said theyd recorded a new album which would be out soon, they also said theyd be touring again when it was released so your wish may come true
