Change to Routes into Leeds Festival

Having two entrances should help to lessen the tailbacks, I remember the first time we went, we were waiting 5 and a half hours in that bloody queue! After that I learned how to queue jump on the A64, but my plan has been scuppered now - bah! I'd have gotten away with it if it wasn't for that pesky Festival Republic!

Hmm, pretty annoying for people coming in from most of Leeds (such as myself) who have to go out of Leeds just to come back in.

The old route's pretty straightforward for me - Up Roundhay/Wetherby Road, along the ring road and then up York Road.

Hmmm...interesting.

Let's hope it makes an improvement to previous system. This change must take southbound traffic off at junction 45 which is the one right beside the traffic entrance to the site. They'll have to get the traffic in pretty sharpish otherwise there'll be a queue back onto the motorway.

This looks like its going to be a real pain for us that live in the Leeds area.

What is it going to improve? It looks worse to me. The old A64 route was fine after the initial deluge of cars on Thursday. We often left the site every day and had no problems coming and going. They should at least revert back to the old route from Friday onwards.

The website doesn't seem to have a clue of how they are going to work it in practice yet. Looks like fun and games to me this year getting into the site. Let's just pray theres no mud this year.

So... it looks as though you can still drive the whole way around the north of the site, to the artists/guests/bus etc entrance, where there was a reasonably big (bigger than previous years) car park last year.

Hurrah!
