for people to lazy to click....

my understanding is that the falling out (caveat: if there's been a falling out) wasn't to do with last time they played but to do with a time after that when they were asked to headline and asked for a stupid amount of money for doing so, which would have been at the expense of the Good Causes that Glastonbury supports.

Ah come on!!! Tell tell tell!! The fact that we cant find out about the 4th headliner and who it was going to be (Coldplay IMO) is bad enough, but not to give us this on a "Im not repeating myself" priciple is just killing us! Especially as the reason is somewhere in the public domain......But so difficlut to find...Come on!! tell!................PLEASE!!

Some peeps did some good searching will I typed!

if i remember rightly they refused to play unless their fee was doubled obviously to prevent crowd trouble they got their wish but at a cost to charitable donations

they were certinly late on in anycase

i think mr eavis was mightily pissed off at them and might seem to explain why they have not been back

I guess it still applies, but The Prodigy are playing in non-headlining slots at festivals this year and played some last year so obviously their egos have been reduced a bit. Obviously they wouldn't be headlining this year so they probably wouldn't demand as much, plus since they are playing so many other festivals this year, you would imagine they wouldn't really need the money.

I think there is still a small chance they will play.

If its the reason Neil suggested that they demanded too much money for a headline slot after their '97 performance then I don't see why this problem couldn't have been patched up recently and could see them playing. they are playing much less high profile festival slots this year.

if it was, as suggested by Binky, that they wanted their fee doubled else they wouldnt go in stage in 1997, then I'd think that its pretty much a no-go, ever. unless the evises are very forgiving

I have seen a few posts on threads here from people suggesting they have heard rumours that this will happen. Still very much "friend of a friend" rumours than anything concrete but heres hoping. Although I will struggle on a Blur v Prodigy clash - that would be a nightmare scenario.

They were pants in 97 when they headlined. Didn't help with the sound constantly going, but they have been great when I've seen them aside from then. Sunday night other stage please, if they do. Mind you the Isle of Wight may have some publicity rights over them and therefore they can't be announced (recall the V Festival had the Stereophonics like that one year)

This is an interesting paragraph.....

The band will play Bristol's Colston Hall in the live final on Saturday, May 23, where they will battle it out in front of the judges who include Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis, Chief Constable Colin Port and The Prodigy drummer Keiron Pepper.
