Anyone get trapped in the mud in 2007?

We got to the car at about 8am but couldn't get out of the carpark until 7pm. It was strangely a very funny day, with everyone laughing hysterically for no apparent reason. It was also f**king annoying though, especially when one of the roads home was closed.

I should have got the coach I had booked back but didn't want to leave at 12.30am, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Anyone else have a nightmare trying to get out?

Leaving wasn't such a problem (once we'd queued for trains for 2 hours in the pissing rain), but there was one point near the entrance to the Park where I thought I was going to be stuck forever.

I don't think my wellies could've been more firmly stuck if they'd been in concrete!

Here's to a sunny one this year!

Despite the weather , I was always happy in my walking boots , and never had a problem.

Until the Sunday night !

Walking back from Chemical Brothers , I decided to walk through the Theatre District. Now there

is a bit of a slope upto the road that splits the Theatre District and Accoustic Field etc.

Lord could I get up that slope , i just seemed to be walking through soft concrete , I finallly managed

knackered , and glad I was not in wellies , or they would still be there !

Sunday night 2007, in that rain, was a real pisser. We tried to ignore it, still sat around our campfire after the Chemical Brothers had finished; but then some of our group had to go to wait for their coaches in the middle of the night.

we were in the car park for over 10 hours, it was bearable when the sun was out and we were all having a laugh pushing each other's cars, except for a rear-wheel mercedes driver decided to shut my finger in his door and nearly chopped it off while we were pushing.

On the whole tho it was a nightmare. Walking back to the festival site to try and find a food stall and carrying bacon sandwiches back to the cars in the pouring rain.

At one point i genuinely believed we were gonna be there for days and was starting to worry about not having food or water, never felt so relieved to get onto a motorway

We decided to hang around and take our time as on our first trip to the car we noticed nothing was moving. We were in Drusilla our 1968 MK II Jaguar so knew she would overheat if we had to queue for a lengthy time. We eventually left about 7pm and drove up to the top of West 21 I jumped out and asked the lovely people at the front of the queue if it was okay to jump in front of them and they were fine about it! Thank you once again!!!

However on reaching our exit junction on the M1 for home we were diverted, Sheffield had been flooded and it then took us a further hour to get home, not 10 minutes as we had expected. It was after 2am when we eventually got home, and fortunately as we live at the top of a hill we were okay, no power but at least we weren't flooded unlike the hundreds who were.

What a day!
