Glastonbury may be in serious doubt for me now. I've been having really bad problems with my left knee, it keeps giving way and I get an awful throbbing pain shortly afterwards. Saw the Dr this morning and I've got to go and have a scan to see what's wrong. I mentioned Glastonbury and his words were "I strongly advise you not to go, but let's see what this scan finds".

Gutted.

Wow we are an ill lot, slipped a disc learly last year, major pain and ended up with sciatica to boot. pretty much cleared now.

Damaged the ligaments in my ankle late last year, ignored the doc's advice and promptly did it again a few weeks later. Now have to have it strapped up constantly for support. walking on rough grounds the killer as there is no strength in it anymore, possibly have to have an op later in the year but trying to avoid if poss.

Still better than 07 when i attended with Broken Scaphoid (Little wrist bone) broken nose, broken Cheek bone and hairline crack to the jaw plus other general aches and pains as well after going head first through a hedge on a motorbike!!!

Jeez, It could take me all day to get you lot up and about!

Remote, you first. Sounds like a tear in the cartilage of your knee. They often settle down by themselves within a few weeks, but if not you need a arthrocopic repair, which aint as bad as it probably sounds to you. I know of surgeons who'll do this without a scan. You could be done and dusted by the fest if you went private, but this may not be affordable/practical.

Low back pains/sciatica - take enough painkillers on a regular basis to keep the pain under control, and keep as active as is possible, you've got to overcome muscular spasm which has set in and this is the best way. Alternatively manipulation and accupuncture can both be good.

Ankle Sprains - RICE, rest (not football!), ice (20 mins three times/day), compression (strap up lots), and elevation (foot above your heart as much as possible)

Periods - I'd suggest delay it, see your GP, I appreciate the heavy period afterwards may not be great, but you can get pills that help with this as well from your GP (tranexmic acid).

The shits - unless you've got an underlying medical problem or infection CHANGE YOUR DIET!

All sorted? See you there.

Edit: Gout and the foot pains I need more info on to tell you anything useful.

I was surfing in South Africa last month and my board hit me in the mouth. It broke my 2 front teeth and one of my bottom ones, so now I can't bite anything. No burgers/bacon sandwiches/growlers for me this glasto. :P

Any non bitey food alternatives?

Thanks Dr Billy! :D

Oh my... don't get us started... we'll be here all day! :(

Oh sod it... I'll look the Gift Horse in the mouth! I'm brave! :(

My foot pains are like the pains you get post-cramp.

They occur when I get out of bed in the morning, and also after being seated for periods of time.

I have this fanciful notion that they're a result of sheer laziness subsequent to a "get fit" bout of running up and down stairs a lot last year.

I'm convinced it must be a result of my own foolishness somehow. I've tried changing my regular footwear, and the way I sit, to no avail! Bah. Always look after your feet, my Grandad used to say. :(

Well, i'm currently in the middle of the most pointless monthly cycle in the history of monthly cycles.

Which means that next months will come early, no doubt on the way down to Glasto and it will be a bastard. I'll end up with cramps and everything.

If it does I'm going to get pissed and perform a hysterectomy with tent peg and a plastic spoon.

I volunteer at a wildlife rescue centre in Leatherhead. Today I was attacked by a squirrel. It scratched my face up and drew blood under my eye.

I'm not impressed.

Not a serious injury that will affect Glastonbury, but I have nobody here in the house to take pity on me ... ;)
