Chop a couple of spuds into chunky wedges and sprinkle some cajun spices on, wrap in tin foil and throw onto the fire. Play pikey for a couple of weeks before hand and collect those sauce sachets from cafes and pubs to dip your home made spicy wedges into.

No washing up either!

We just take a few disposable BBQ's, a cool box and some burgers/bacon/bread for Wednesday & Thursday and then pay the price when the bands are on when you want to be anywhere but your tent. Less food to carry means you can bring more beer.

It is though, each to your own, I used to take enough food for the whole festival but now I just can't be bothered with carrying it all

bread rolls & squeezy cheese!!! you will not regret it. After years of raving of the joy of this, my husband finally succumbed & tried it to humour me - now he takes it every time he goes camping with or without me!

Rolls may get a little squashed but taste better for it after a day or so. And the squeezy cheese comes in variety of flavours to please all taste buds ;) Easy & quick fix for anytime of day & definite munchie satisfier. Also relatively cheap & light weight for packing - you can't go wrong! Have sworn by this since my first fests of '98 & never looked back - just thought I'd share the wealth

I've never understood why anyone would want to lug a load of heavy food and cooking equipment with them so that they can spend ages cooking their own supermarket food when there's such an amazing array of wonderful food from all around the world less than 2 minutes walk away?

The food in Glastonbury is the most over-rated thing in the South West. How can you call that stuff wonderful? The portions are crappy, the price is hiked and the quality is mediocre at best, not that I expect anything else in a festival of course.

I've always found there to be a lot of choice which varies in quality...some of it is your usual crap but then as long as you choose well there are some amazing places with food to die for. As long as you stay clear of the usual burger vans etc (eurgh!), there's some quality food to be found. It may be more expnsive but I'd rather than than have to wait at least 30 mins back at my tent. It just seems such a waste of time unless it's first thing in the morning.

This will be my first camp at glasto, having been on Sunday tickets last year. I will defo be cooking my own,for cost reasons and i do wonder about some of the hygene on a few, and just a few of the eating places. Lots of pasta, noodles, and packet stuff, but defo no porridge... Most of the eating places are ok, but its far cheaper to do your own. Plus you get far more for your money.
