The Detroit born and San Francisco based Tech house DJ/producer will be performing in the Chibuku Arena on Saturday 29th August and will be his only English Festival this Summer. Claude VonStroke real name Barclay Crenshaw is one of the scenes biggest talents, having set up his own ‘Dirty Bird’ and ‘Mothership’ record labels and building a roster of renowned remixer’s and producer’s including Diplo, Kevin Saunderson and Justin Martin he himself has remained one of the scenes most in demand producers, whose tracks such as ‘Whose Afraid Of Detroit’ have become international hits and been championed by the likes of Richie Hawtin who called it the “best track of 2006” in DJ magazine. Following this he released his full length debut album to outstanding reviews, further establishing him as an original talent in the underground. Claude’s sets are based around meticulous track selection and outrageous risk taking….the perfect combination for a festival set at Creamfields! Also announced last week was super producer Diplo, confirmed to perform at the northern fest on Sunday 30th August Bank Holiday weekend. Mississippi born Diplo is one of the scenes more experimental artistes, who found and created a sound were his musical tastes including 80’s pop, electronica, Dirty South hip hop and his major influence, Miami bass music all mix together. Some of his more heavy impact projects include Hollertronix and Piracy Funds Terrorism, both of which broke him into the electro pop scene and saw him scoop ‘DJ Of The Year’ in 2005 by Spin Magazine now an internationally recognised artiste and producer, this will be Diplo’s debut performance at Creamfields. Other acts added to the ever growing line up include festival favourites Casiokids, this Norwegian outfit set out to make electro music more visual, whilst combining old analogue and trashy keyboards, pop melodies and a digital & shadow puppet theatre, they have managed to catapult themselves to the forefront of live electronica. They also historically released the first ever Norwegian language pop single in the UK! And adding some hip hop flavour to the festival, we are pleased to announce hip hop trio Young Fathers, the Scottish trio who use break-beat, Go-Go Rhythms, mash ups and crusading lyrics to create an exciting fusion of sound, are currently touring with another Creamfields fave Calvin Harris, joining them will be beats rapper Example.
