Check out the article below which suggests the official website will be recieving a makeover:

http://www.thedrum.co.uk/news/2009/05/15/1...y-festival-site

"The Glastonbury Festival has tasked HyperlaunchDMG to design its website which will go live next week.

The agency is the first in the festival’s history to be appointed to the role and sees it tasked with bring all of its news and information while being content-rich, and user-friendly and also reflect the character of Glastonbury Festival.

An illustrative montage creative style will depict the various scenes of the Festival and has been applied to the headers across the main sections of the site.

The line-up section will contain this year’s festival poster providing an-at-a glance line up for the festival, a planner will allow users to compare up to nine stages at a time - showing who’s playing while there will be also be a searchable A-Z list of artists.

Blogs will also be available on selected areas where users can follow updates from the area managers."

Yeah i'd say it makes perfect sense to announce the line up with the new site. How spiffing.

I'm not sure that the new site will go live with the line-up announcement - a convo I had last week or early this week with the person at Glasto in charge of the website suggested different, tho it wasn't specifically stated.

Launching a new site on an extremely busy day for that site is a very bad way to do things - the fact that each user will have to load every single part of that site and not pull any of it from their cache puts an awful lot of extra strain on the webserver, and is likely to lead to crashes if busy.

looks like the website will put the clashfinders out of work too.

thats the way i read it too, but will they actually have the timings?, no reason not to i suppose, hopefully from every stage

I'd guess that it won't actually state the times, tho will probably put the acts in the right slots time-wise against each other.

The reason I suspect that it won't have the times is that Glastonbury have been quite insistent in the past that they shouldn't be published (yes, I know that The Guardian has published them anyway). This is because it's been felt that publishing the times in advance would affect cash sales of extra programmes for those people who want to buy extra programmes, and risk the fest being stuck with a load of unsold programmes and the associated financial loss on those programmes.
