I'm starting to get a bit thirsty as the anticipation builds for Glasto so I have a question for anyone who was there last year:

- Did Brothers sell the 3L bottles for £10? There was some utter bollocks in 2007 that caused a no bottles rule for at least the last day or two (anyone know what the hell caused that?) caused complete mayhem for us as there is only one place on site to buy festival strength and there was suddenly no easy way to transport it.

- Was there any other change to the Nectar of the Gods (different prices etc.)

Pretty sure the bottles are a thing of the past now. Since they stopped them in 2007, they haven't been back....I think. Maybe someone will correct me though.

I believe there were no bottles but it was 3 pints for £10? Maybe 4 for £10?

Anyway, they did supply Brothers in plastic bottles last year in supermarkets to bring to the festival as well, obviously not exactly the same as a fresh pint but cheaper and still top quality refreshment!

We asked up at Brothers Bar at the time when they stopped doing them half way through the festi that year. Their response was that they had been asked by the festival organisers to stop selling so much cider to each person at once as people were just getting too pissed and rowdy.

Probably more like the other bars were complaining as they lost out on business from them.

Course we just went and bought 3 litres in cups instead and decanted them back into one of the bottles . . .

maybe camel paks are the answer??

Not selling them in bottles isn't going to stop anyone drinking irresponsibly. If someone goes with the idea of getting bladdered they're going to do it regardless of what container the alcohol comes in.

just do what i did lastyear and take an empty 2ltr bottle and decant the pints into that, was a god send on sun after i started running out of my own supplies. be careful tho the gas in the cider caused the lid to expolde into the air, could have had my eye out
