A lot of people on here seem to rate last years festival very highly. Was last year really your best ever? I kinda hope that it wasnt because it was my 1st year and my hopes are so incredibly high for next year ;)

Nope - for some some reason 99 and the Lazarus like comeback of the fest from the floods (personified by Brian Wilson and aided by Basement Jaxx) in 05 always jump out in my mind. 94 and 95 were scorchers too. I had a ball last year but there was nothing on the lineup that was truly jawdropping for me personally...

I had a long break between 95 and 07 ;)

I remember last year, on the sunday evening, watching Laughing Len, vodka jelly in hand, sun setting and thinking this is pretty much perfect.

I reckon this year's got potential to trump the lot - in Blur, the Specials and Spinal Tap, there's three acts right there that only a year ago I doubted I would I ever get to see/see again, so to have them all in one weekend promises to be quite special!

for me, it's pretty much all about the weather, way more than the lineup. I'm happy to just wander around, sit on the grass, watch any old 2 bob chancers if the sun is shining. Nothing makes a festival more unpleasant than bad weather. I can't be doing with that 'we won't let a bit of rain get us down, will we' stuff. Trudging through Somme like conditions for 5 days is just draining.

yeah ive noticed it seems to be alot of peoples 2nd year this time round, well on this forum anyway. That suggests to me that last year was so good loads of people felt obliged to join the forum

95 - my first, hottest and sunniest ever, 25th anniversary celebrations, chaos in the Green Fields when the fence came down and the introduction to the rest of my life! Utterly amazing and incredible. :lol:

Second best was 02 because of the small crowd numbers, glorious weather and Rolf! B)

i think last year my my best, partly because i didnt get to go in 2007, partly cos of all the new stuff like trash city and the park that had appeared since i was last there in 2005, partly the weather and partly cos ive learnt not to try and cram in too much and just go with the flow. the line up didnt really do it for me last year and i still had a ball, and this year the line up is looking rather special!
