whats the security like at download.

i have only been to a festival once before (Reading last year) and was wondering if you get searched on the way in etc...

Let's just say on the way in last year only one of my friends got his bags searched out of about 12 of us.

He had a biscuit tin in the middle of the bag. The tin didn't have biscuits in it......The guy picked it up, said "biscuits to a festi......ah right mate, no worries" put it back in the bag n gave him a wink and let him through.

I must have that look I am checked every year with out fail.I give my cough illegals to the missus She is never checked.

we've never had any trouble with seacrhes at Download, but it's purely down to the luck of the draw. we've walked right through past the fuzz and the dogs, all having smoke on us. there's no way they can search everyone, but they have to search some people. so its just a case of keeping your fingers crossed, particularly if you like to indulge in some extra-curricular activities!

I've never been searched but last year one of my mates got all his gear unpacked at the gate while the rest of us walked through, Ive never seen anything quite like that before.

Searches are expected to be more thorough this year, with the gas ban happening.
