As Glastonbury is now only 36 days away, I'm going to start keeping an eye out for good deals on beer, spirits, ciders etc. I thought it would be a good idea to get a thread going, if I was a moderator I'd sticky this, sadly I'm not. Thus if you see any good deals list them here please and we can beat those capitalist, multi-national bastards together.......

Call me stupid if you like, but why would I want to lug half a ton of lukewarm lager around, when I can get Woodfordes Wherry, various ciders, or even cold lager from various outlets around the site?

You pay £170 to get in, another £30-40 to get there, surely it's worth another £100 to drink in style and not risk a hernia?

No, he just has more disposable income than you, and is willing to spend it on convenience and quality.

Me, I'll only have around 4 pints a day -- I love to get ratted, but not in an environment where there's stages to get to and standing up to be achieved.

Oh yeah, I didn't spot the invitation.

In my view it's worth taking a box of red wine, or some spirits (or both) for the tent and watching bands. Beer is too heavy, and sends you to the loo too often.

Boxed Weston cider will probably come into the equation and maybe a prefest delivery of Burrowhill for the Pre Meet?

I was actually reacting to his invitation - I understand his point. I do think it's a bit shortsighted to suppose that just because you can afford to spend £3.50 a pint that everyone else can though. I could in theory afford to now if i chose to but I certainly couldn't when I was a student etc. Also, it's handy when you're around the tent or watching a band to have drinks around you and not have to go to the bar every 20 minutes.

Plus, in the slightly feral atmosphere of Glastonbury, warm beer isn't the hardship it normally would be (and I own a coolbox!). However, am seriously considering cutting the lager consumption in favour of festie strength Brothers if anyone's seen any good deals!
