BAR TOKENS

Please note, all the bars in the Main Arena ONLY TAKE TOKENS. So if you want to buy a drink, you’ll need to make sure you’ve got some tokens with you, because we won’t be accepting cash as payment.

You can buy bar tokens at the Main Campsite Bar, and also in the Main Arena – there are places to buy tokens next to every bar in these areas.

Our suggestion is that once you’ve arrived and pitched your tent, the next thing you do is go to the Main Campsite bar and get your Challenge 21 Wristband (with your ID). THEN buy some bar tokens, so that once you arrive in the Main Arena on Friday, you don’t have to queue up to be able to get a cold beer!

The Main Campsite bar takes both CASH and TOKENS. Each token costs £3.50. Here’s a sample of what a single token will buy you the following at any of our standard bars:

- 500ml plastic bottle of Tuborg

- Vodka Kick

- Wine

- Carlsberg Export

- Water

SPECIALITY BARS

There are standard bars dotted around the arena and village area, but we also have some speciality bars that are coming to visit us at Download this year:

Jagermeister Bar – stage right of Main Stage

Red Bull Bar – near Stage 3

Guinness Bus – near Stage 3

Tuborg Bars – near Stage 3

The Doghouse – beside the Red Bull Bedroom Jam Stage – with seating, benches and more.

The Doghouse is pretty special – it will have seating and also serve cocktails & spirits – remember it’s still a TOKENS ONLY bar, so some drinks may cost 2 tokens instead of 1. We’re going to try waiter service at the Doghouse – we’ve no real way of knowing whether it will work – so here’s hoping you can visit us and enjoy the pleasure of table service – If not… we’re sorry – but at least we tried!

DOWNLOAD OFF LICENCE – THE CAMPSITE

The Main Campsite bar has an "Off Licence" – meaning you can buy carry-outs at a really good price. We’ve seen you all, year after year, struggling to the campsites with your slabs of warm, fizzy beer – so we thought we’d save you the effort – get either 4-packs of tinnies, or slabs of 24 COLD tins from us at excellent rates. Choose from cold tins of Tuborg, Carlsberg, Gaymers Pear Cider or Apple Cider:

- 4 cold tins – for just £5

- 1 slab of 24 cold tins – for just £30

£30 for 24 gaymers is alright I think gaymers is NICE!

They've got comedy as well for second year running. Pretty much most of the same guys who performed last year - Sean O'Sullivan, Greg Cook, Lou Saffire (compere), Rob & Skatz, Gary Delaney, Sean Percival, etc. Can't remember them all!

Greg Cook was my fave last year out of the ones I saw last year, I thought he was excellent. Don't know if I can be bothered with them this year though.

Someone on the official boards says they know someone who works for Dominoes and will be working Download and they say its £5 a slice and £15 a pizza, no build your own, no special offers and there will be limited varities avalible, a basic menua only
