Evening all

This year will be my first Glasto :D) *Never managed to get tickets before*

For the last few years have always gone to leeds *totally kid free*

This year however,as i've managed to get tickets for glasto, Iam taking my 12 year old son with me.There are 4 of us going together, myself,my son, My OH and his mate *We are all in our 30's*

For years i have wanted to go to ...just to experience the whole 'glasto experience'...so just looking for any useful pointers ect.

My OH has said for us to camp at Cockmill meadow....would this 'best' place for us to camp ?

Also are there any specific places ect that are a 'must see' ?

Any advice would be grestly appreciated :D

Firstly try here: http://www.gorge.org/glastonbury/tort-faq2.shtml#25

It is a really good FAQ. Cockmill Meadow is family camping according the questions so should be a good place to camp with children.

The stuff for kids to do at Glastonbury looks great. Also make sure you spend time down in the Greenfields too as there is some great stuff down there to see and do, a lot of which your kids will love too.

Also try out the food if you can! There is such a variety all over the site and although there is the usual rubbish that you get at events, there are also some great options too.

Cockmill Meadow is good - if you are planning a trip to the Stone Circle or Greenfields, it is a fair old haul as you drop down into the main area and then back up the other side.

When we were there, there were a couple of acts on the Pyramid stage that we were too knackered to do (or the kids were...) and it was good to sit outside the tent with a (plastic) glass of wine and let the music wash over you.

Good bakery at the bottom of the hill

Long drops are nicer than plastic builders' loos....

Listen to music that you wouldn't normally think about

As others have said elsewhere, Craft field, green fields and so on are all worthwhile - night-time theatre in Trash City watching fire poi and so on

I'm doing it with our daughter who turns 13 just 10 days beforehand (how to spend £180...) but we should be in the campervan fields.

You will all have a fantastic time...

this will be my first glasto aswell and i am going with my dad and i am 12 years old aswell!

we basically have the same problem of which family camping field do we go into and people have said that you will actually have to get there when the gates open to get into cockmill meadow because it fills extremely quickly.paines ground in the past has been prone for flooding and for spring ground you have a far way to walk unless you go in at gate A.we hope that this helps you a bit more and this website is really good aswell: www.glastoearth.com/the-faq

i went on this website and one of the questions asked is where to camp and there are many other really quite fields aswell as the family camping ones that look really interesting
