I don't necessarily blame Aldo. Well. I do. But that team on the whole are cheats and encouraged to be. But Aldo trusts them, and you can't account for trust. He's a cheat though.

Cain could at least have the "ring rust" excuse if nothing else? and everyone has their off day. he was a destroyer prior to werdum beating him. I would look forward to a rematch between the two.

 

not the most original fight to make, but the HW division is sorely lacking in real killers these days anyway.

He showed nothing in that fight, doesn't warrant an instant rematch. I could understand if it was a war and Werdum came out on top. He gassed in the last fight because of the altitude, his own fault for going to Mexico 2 weeks before the fight, Werdum was there over a month.

 

Cain has only fought three different opponents in the last five years, if he wins the rematch then what happens if he gets injured again? Back to interim title until he is ready to fight a year later. I would have given the next shot to winner of Arlovski/Mir or give it to Miocic (who is now facing Rothwell in Dublin).

Cain could probably beat any other heavyweight other than Werdum at the moment, so I dont think anyone can complain too much about it. If the fight is at sea level or similar and Cain wins, then Werdum gets the fight afterwards presumably. A trilogy with them 2 wouldnt be a bad thing. Cain under estimated the effect and maybe thought he was better/less rusty at that time than he actually was, and he will hopefully become a better fighter because of it and stays healthy. If Werdum wins, I would hope Miocic gets the title shot (If he gets past Rothwell).

 

Dos Anjos defending against Cowboy Cerrone on December 19th, shown on fox. Should be a good fight, Cerrone deserves the shot more than anyone really so should be entertaining.

Yeah, dont know if Anderson will fight again tbh. Yeah he has a contract for numerous fights, but he isnt going to challenge for the belt so whats the point. The UFC should give him some Brazil based job and let him just enjoy retirement

Weidman vs Rockhold UFC 194 co-main with the Conor-Aldo fight, hope the card gets even more stacked. JDS Overeem could be targetted for then, or some mid to high level heavyweight fight and a womens MMA fight would have a bit for everyone

UFC 194 is stacked enough (pending no injuries) and should easily do over a million buys.

Rousey Holm should be good if they stay stood up, if Rousey takes her down then its as good as over already. As long as the injury bug doesnt hit the two cards it should be a good pair of cards, both hopefully doing big numbers. Jacare and Yoel Romero will be a good fight on top of McGregor-Aldo and Weidman-Rockhold. If Joanna defends her title on the Rousey card too it could help boost the Straw weight divisions popularity, or have another high profile WMMA fight high on the card.

 

UFC 200 could turn out to be a superb card, I wouldnt rule out 3 title fights but 2 is almost certain IMO

It would be a record breaker for the UFC, and could make more of an impact in the wider non-mma media so it might not be a bad idea. Yeah the UFC is a business and they are out to make money, but a huge card every now and then to make memories and show what the UFC is all about could be a good idea in the future

I've been away at ATG, so missed this - but Rousey v Holm is the worst matchmaking I have ever seen in the UFC. If its not Tate, it should at least be Nunes.

Rousey is at least doing her bit to try and make it sound like a close fight by saying Holm is the most decorated striker in MMA, with her boxing record. Yeah thats okay but it just means Ronda wont want to strike, 20 second arm bar it is?

Did you watch Holm's last fight? she didnt impress me. I'd say Meisha is a better striker than Holm on what I have seen.

Tate deserved the next shot, yeah it would be a third fight but at least she earned her way back to a title shot and got out of the first round. I wonder if that is the card they stick CM Punk on.

 

RDA/Cerrone card is shaping up nice, Michael Johnson vs Nate Diaz (he only fights in December now). I'm hoping Overeem vs JDS  gets added to that too.
