Arriving via Natioanl Express Coach

So, me and 3 friends are going to Glasto for the first time this year. We were just wondering on what sort of luggage allowance we can have on NE coaches. We'll have 3 tents, sleeping bags and our main bags, but what about crates of beer etc? Can we carry stuff like this onto the coach itself, and put it by our feet or anything?

My personal experiance is that they don't bother weighing it, The usual is for 2 bags in the luggage (rucksack and tent bag for me), one with you on the coach (with drink, mag, nibbles etc in it).

Sometimes they ask you to take off the sleeping bags/roll mats etc attched to rucksacks and stuff em under your seats or on the overhead racks so that they can get the more heavy stuff in the luggage area.

Creates etc, ask the driver, they are normally amiable and they prefer you to store such in the luggage space as it means you are not drinking on the coach, but don't take that for granted.

well, the coaches they use for "specials" such as festivals aren't necessarily regular NEx drivers. They're chartered coach tours, so the driver will just be a coach driver. Everyone responds well to a nice smile unfortunately there are some people who love to be officious little so and so's.

A driver from Essex who drove us to the V Festival from London couldn't have been nicer, even though his bus broke down before getting to Golders Green and having to wait for three hours for a new coach to turn up to replace his. A driver from Gloucester who was doing the run back to London from Glastonbury after all the rains of 2007 was a little concerned about his coach being overrun by 50 muddy Londoners, but he's just doing his job.

Play nicely with him, accommodate him and his needs and you'll be fine. Good luck!
