I got the free ticket offer at work today so i will now be going to this, nice work by the festival giving away tickets to try and get punters in, if people are there they will spend money and if they like it will continue to go in the future.

its a bit of a drive for me but it would be stupid to turn down the offer of 2 tickets free if you spend a tenner on a splashmac( also worth noting that half of the money goes towards the teenage cancer trust, which is an excellent charity to support IMO)

i just hope its sunny for this now, not sure my old tent can take another festival battering, i was hoping it would last this summer but wait and see i guess!

I disagree I have worked in many Guest areas at various festivals and the people who get a free guest ticket from a friend of a friend are more likely to ask for a discount at the bar.

They are not big spenders although the genuine holders do spend a fair bit.

if I had spent £ 250 on two tickets I would be well upset that others are getting in for £ 10 although the Guest area is nothing to write home about.

For everyone who gets the special offer I bet they will only go back if they can get the same special offer next year and I have to wonder if the people who paid full price will be so keen next year.

I have just taken up the MandM splashmac offer - me and hubby are going to take our two daughters to their first festival. We thought we may as well try them out at a festival while this offer is on - we do V FEstival each year but don't find that very child friendly, so this will be good for them. We only live 20 mins up the road so no long car journey either.

i'm really looking forward to it actually - not as much as I'm looking forward to V, but then this is mainly to introduce the kids to the festival scene etc.

Hope the sun shines, it's lovely all around there and would be a great weekend with a bit of sunshine too!!! Can't wait to see Paul Weller, hubby is a big fan, but also looking forward to checking out the smaller bands that we wouldn't normally do - roll on next weekend!!!

Ok- I have just purchased my towel from mandm...supposedly you get a pair of tickets free- however, it specifys that this includes parking for attendance of the 4th and 5th July but says OVERNIGHT CAMPING PASS not included. I am unable to find anywhere that would give me the price I would have to pay for camping as well - or is it a con and when I get there they will say you have to pay the full price to camp??

Hi, was it a towel you bought or a rainmac - my friend was trying to get these free tickets but can't seem to find them on the website anymore.

I'm pretty sure when I ordered my rainmac it said camping included in the tickets - if not the price is £16 for camping according to the Hop Farm website.

thanks

Gotta say, cracking little festy with a nice relaxed vibe lots of families taking there kids for there 1st festy experience! perfect for that. Wouldnt say it was at capacity, and hopefully this will not affect its return next year.

Had a great day!

I live in the village right next to the festival and im really glad it had the chance to actually go ahead! Vince has had a lot of problems with many of the locals who even petitioned and campaigned to stop this event happening.

I heard that the line up was going to be a lot stronger than it was, but in order to meet certain requirements a few major acts dropped out :P

I for one will certainly be backing this festival next year!

They need to sort out the main inside bar, pulling pints of froth, they need an air conditioned cellar or something. Was also getting annoyed that they kep running out of beer and cider in there, and they would totally close the bar and toilets. Totally un-prepared. Good weekend for nothing anyway!!!!

Have to agree - a great little fest and what a bonus Roger Daltrey coming on in Paul Weller's encore. Setting is ideal and the organisation was very good - camping was good, food choice good, regular litter-picks and all toilets I saw were good. Nice friendly atmosphere also. Didn't seem full so would doubt very much that it had sold out.

Only gripes would be beer tent only having two real ales which ran out very early and the proximity of the dance tent to the main stage - you could hear it even in front of mixing desk. Security seemed a bit heavy at times also with wrist-bands not only being looked at regularly but "yanked" as well each time!!

Had a good time though and weather was fantastic.

Just got home and i must say a top weekend. Well organised, plenty of room on the campsite, excellent toilets etc, even this morning they were spotlessley clean! Also is was very very nice to have a five minute walk from the carpark to the campsite and five minute walk from the tent to the main arena!

Also it was nice to park for free and be able to drive straight out this morning with no queues at all.

Also there was a good choice of food outlets( Spinach and Agushi is the best festival food i have ever had!) and i now have an addiction to vodka slush puppies after finding that stall on the saturday it got a lot of custom from us!

Minor gripes, the customer service desk was not that helpful, lists of names and the checking procedures were slow and disorganised. the free locker service wasn't that good IMO name on a list and put a sticker on your stuff and that was pretty much left in the tent in full view until you collected it, BUT at least the service was offered to punters to leave their stuff free of charge

Not much after hours enetertainment BUT its a new festival finding its feet so minor gripes like this are immaterial when looking at all of the many many postives to take from the weekend!

All in all an excellent little festival, good range of acts, well orgainsed, no logos and brands slapped everywhere and definately one i will consider going to again next year! Well done to all involved :-)

Not enough people on site on the Saturday but I really enjoyed the fest on Sunday, their was a great atmosphere in the dance tent, Kissy Sell Out did a wicked set. Somehow they managed to keep on schedule with the 10/15 minute switchovers of artists on the main stage.
