JayD
Hi Everyone, I'm trading at Rockness this year for the first time... REALLY looking forward to it as it's just such a wicked line-up!! I run a stall that sells temporary airbrushed tattoo's and body art (no real needles or piercing) and custom designed T-Shirts. I'm brining my Daughter and a friend but could probably do with an extra pair of hands for a few hours each day / night on the stall as the girls who usually help me can't make it... nothing heavy just talking/dealing with customers queries etc. If anyone would like to help out in return for a free weekend camping ticket then please let me know... I definitely have one and maybe 2 spare staff tickets. Ideally email me please pontyboy@hotmail.com or call 07828 582795 I'm driving up from Cardiff but it's unlikely I'd have spare seats so you would need to find your own way to the gig really probably ideal if you live near Inverness really (but not essential). I am doing other events this year (T in the Park is one) and so if it works out for both of us this could be an ongoing arrangement. Please don't ask me to sell these tickets as I am not allowed to. Cheers Jay
Paul ™
How much hours work we talking here? Am interested and possibly have someone to come with me to help if it's 2 tickets afterall. Will drop you an email
JayD
I'd say about 5-6 hours each day MAX and maybe an hour to help pack up.., I'm talking a couple of hours on and a couple of hours off kind of thing (or you could do them all together if it suits you)... I usually find most people spend quite a lot of time around the stall because we have handy facilities (electricity etc) I'm really quite laid back about the whole hours thing, it's just to cover busy periods (or when I need to go to the bar) Don’t worry - I'm sure this will enhance rather than spoil your weekend!! JayD
It seems that my initial post above has caused some upset with the promoter for the event to the point that my pitch has been cancelled and I can no longer trade. I just wanted to say to anyone involved that I am quite new to this and can assure you this was an error of judgement, I honestly didn’t believe I was doing anything wrong and was certainly did not have any malicious intent. Apologies to anyone who has been affected.
shezam
that is not fair! your only trying to help out and get a little help in return. Guess Jims not happy with that

emz2468
Sorry to hear that JayD, that's not fair at all. That's what usually happens with traders at festivals, it's not like you were just offering a free ticket, you stated they would be working! JayD
I'm really quite devastated I'm not even allowed to do it alone with my daughter now either... I'm new in business and had quite a lot riding on this being a successful weekend. I'm guessing the promoter felt I was trying to rip them off or something but it's an honest mistake... lesson learnt tho I guess. Anyway, enough neg from me… some people have a great festival to look forward too… Have a good one!! Edited June 10, 2009 by JayD
//ross
thats a shitter. surely an error of judgement can be overlooked in a case where there was obviously no intent to do wrong. ask jim in the other thread now Edited June 10, 2009 by ross410
JayD
Nah mate - It's one of those decisions that once it's made it's made and I respect that. Obviously I’m gutted but the decision has been made… You’ve just gotta put some stuff down to experience!
