Praying Namaz

My good festival dwelling friends, firstly i would like to thank Sam and others for there non-stereotypical attitude to a couple brothers wanting to keep the peace with 'THE ONE'. Thank you.

As for music being Harram, you are correct sir. Does that mean I am going to segregate myself from western culture, friends and lifestyle? The answer is No. Humans adapt to their environment which is what makes us different to any other species (not that I aggree with evolution) lol

Glastonbury is merely a way to feed the Western up bringing that I have been exposed to for 26 years and is such a big part of my life. There just has to be a balance of culture and religion.

A man with a hook jumping and shouting "death to all infidels" is NOT, I repeat NOT the voice of the religion. Which is why I feel its important to attend venues such as Glastonbury to break the stereotype of all muslims being terrorist and the ticking is not their watch! lol

There's a bit on here - http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/info...iritual-support

- Muslim Prayer

Jumu'ah (Juma) will be prayed on Friday June 26th at 1:30pm. Any muslims, or others who are interested in learning more about Islam, are welcome to join in reading Namaz. This is not an official arrangement and there are no facilities, therefore it will be everyone's responsibility to ensure their own wudhu and to bring a prayer mat. I intend to read Namaz in the Healing Field and will call Adhan at 1:15pm, but plan to be there well before. If you would like any further information or wish to make contact before going please email me at leekennedy1404@hotmail.com.

Hope that helps!

Enjoy :D

personaly I HATE all religion, for verious reasons. i dont think god pointed at earth n said pray there, church there etc.. i think its a totaly personal thing and what you belive shouldnt come with a tag IE im catholic, or im muslim, or im a fairie worshiper haha..

if i was going to follow any one religion, i like the idea of being a buddist just because its so peaceful.

but yet have a good festival, ramble over lol

Hello everyone again. The above paragraph was actually submitted by me, and I then started this thread before it was showing on the Glastonbury website. Thanks to all who've replied, it's good to see the interest people show. Please contact me by email if you wish to make direct contact and arrange things before getting there.

Bloody hell!!!!

This is all a lot nicer than the usual religious bashing and nastiness that goes on in the Wibble/Discussion section :D Any mention of the fact I am religious is descended upon from a great height :D

I think its cool you guys are all going to meet up :D Would be nice to have a Christian one as well... Or maybe a nice big religious meet for anyone of a religious persuasion :) Show we can all get along :)

Glastonbury rocks :)

Can someone explain to me: I thought 'harram' meant 'forbidden'. But it looks like it must be a lot more subtle than that. Surely *music* can't be forbidden? Arab cultures have music. There's lots of high profile muslim musicians.

Wow - this has all got really exciting.

As I put in my original post on the Glastonbury website - all are welcome. So if you are not muslim but would like to learn a bit more, see how we pray, chat afterwards, please feel free to come along to the Healing Field.

As a reminder it will be Friday 26th, I will be there from 1pm at the latest (and hunting down a suitable plot) and Adhan (the call to prayer) will be called at 1.15pm. (Please all pray for good weather between now and then!)

I'm looking forward to this - hope to see you all there.

Oafc0000 - You are more than welcome to come along - but for your requirements there is a Christian tent provided. But regardless - hope to see you.
