Non-alcoholic drinks for thirsty non-drinkers ?

Okay folks I gave up the booze about 6 years ago and haven't had a drop since !

I love going to Glasto and always have a great time in a sober state surprisingly enough :D The buzz of the place keeps me high as a kite :D

I understand that I am in a small minority being a non-drinker but would like to hear if anyone else has any decent suggestions of places which serve decent non-alcoholic drinks in general.

I seemed to spend a lot of my time drinking either a lot of cans of Red Bull (needed to keep me going through the many hours available) or quite a lot of either bottled water or fruit juice.

I found a place called 'The Orchard Pig' which sold ice cold organic apple juice which was absolutely tasty & lovely and very reasonably priced (I highly recommend them btw). I checked with them recently and they are here again this year near to 'The Other Stage' so I will be back there again I guess...

However I'm sure there must be lots of other places around the site selling tasty non-alcoholic drinks so I'm asking for some help here.

Can anyone recommended anywhere/anything that would be suitable?

I know about places like the 'Tiny Tea Tent' which is great for a hot cuppa but I'm looking for places which sell tasty thirst quenching drinks (not your bog standard cans of cola/sprite etc either !)

Does the 'Cider Bus' or 'Brothers Bar' sell straight apple/pear juices for instance (and are they any good)?

Any decent non-alcoholic beers sold is something else I'm interested to find out too.

I'm sure I can't be the only non-drinker going to Glasto this year so please share your knowledge !

Many Thanks in advance

Dave

The Chai Chapel is a good spot, and I was talking with someone the other week that is running a stall selling Frappacinos. Had one at Sunnrise, and an iced drink at a festival on a hot day is wonderful (about 3 quid as well). When I remember the name I will pass it on.

I don't bother with non alcoholic beers, they are shite.

But did you know that Kopperberg are doing a non alcohlic pear cider, and it is quite nice :P

Does anyone know if there is non-alcoholic beer/lager/cider available to buy on site?

I didn't find any last year but was not particularly looking ....

I discovered a nice place last year. I think it was the Glade Lounge. Anyway, it's a tent next to the Glade that sells juices and non-alcoholic cocktails. It wasn't particularly cheap but came in a big glass. Good for something a bit more interesting than just your usual canned soft drinks.

I can also recommend the Smoothie stall. They are amazing.

I'm gonna agree with all the smoothy people. They're especially good when it's hot and sunny (as it WILL be this year) as they're cold and freshly made right on front of your eyes. And i'm sure it's at least one of your five-a-day.

Mmmm...i can't wait :D

I can vouch for the smoothies, in fact I was on a bit of a mission last year to try as many as possible. Unfortunately, I can't remember which I got from where so that's no use to anyone  The one in the circus field will let you cycle your own smoothie, but I turned down their kind offer as I was aching like buggery by then lol!

The fresh lemonade stall is fab, but I can't drink a whole pint of it either, it would be better if they gave a half pint option as well.

Am glad for this list, never really been a fan of alcohol although i make it :)

There was a place that did cider cake (really small stall) and served with either cider or fresh apple juice.

To much apple juice can lead to gut ache though (speaking from experience) but is nice to have a list of other places to try other than the standard coke or water. Am always on the (Chai) tea though

I'm not much of a drinker either Dave (other than festival milk in my coffee!) Your thread has given me lots of ideas of lovelt thinks to try :)

I'm planning on having a few non alcoholic drinkies with me at camp so please come visit us (if you can find us!)

Hi Dave

I've been an alcohol free zone for quite a few days now, tbh I'm not sure what I do for drinks at G, but I know I'm never really stuck. Smoothies I suppose are an obvious 'luxury' choice. I don't think I've ever bought from places that are licenced (thinking about apple juice vs cider). Also, I suppose yoghurty things, ice creams, strawberries with pancakes have vaguely a 'liquid' content too ... ;)

Bestmost
