Is it possible to predict the weather?

Basically the UK sits in between four different weather systems. Any one of these is reasonably easy to predict. The boundary between all four? Nightmare.

What this equates to is % confidences regarding their prediction. So the forecast for now (with the exception of the BBC site, haha) is 100%. For tomorrow, maybe 70%. 3 days.. 40% , (I'm making these numbers up), 5 days.. 20% and beyond 5 days is pure and utter speculation. So the short answer is..

No.

And here's all the weather forecasting you ever need in one simple site: http://Will It Rain Tomorrow.com/

My parents are in Kendal so I'll ask them to look out the window today and keep an eye out for the sleet!

Weather does seem to be totally random, on Friday the BBC website was saying that in Leeds we'll have rain over the weekend when we actually had baking sunshine on both days!

I'd say anythign morer than 5 days ahead could be way off and anything inside the 5 days is still subject to massive changes.

However, we all know its going to be a sunny weekend over Glastonbury so this thread is pointless!!
