Girls - what to wear!

I wear a shirt (and take a spare) no longer then knee length so it doesn't trail in anything nasty when visiting the loo! A variety of tops, for all weathers, cord levis sytle jacket or a fleece, a jumper and poncho for if its chilly. Cheap plastic rain poncho in case it should rain! Footwear - flip flops, Birkenstock sandles + wellies. Plenty of socks, knee length are best to stop wellies rubbing!

LAYERS!!! vest tops, hoodie, leggings, dress , combats and boots/funky wellies. Depends if she wants to dress up or not. We go full on ballgown, tiara, glitter, leggings/stripy socks on saturday night!

Tell her to get a decent hoodie or fleece and a waterproof coat.

Oooh and hats!!!!!

I find that shorts and skirts and short dresses are by far the best option, bring lots of tights and long socks and then you can wear them with wellies if it's wet (which it won't be), to avoid getting too muddy, and in the sun they can obviously just be worn without the tights/socks. Definitely leave longer skirts at home to avoid toilet draping scenarios (it's hard enough with a short skirt when you're a bit merry)!

I'm taking:

Dress

Strappy/vest tops

Tshirts

Cargo pants

Footless Tights

Leggings

Fleece

Hoody

Shrug (for chucking over vest/strappy top if it's a teeny bit chilly)

Waterproof coat

Hats

Legwarmers

Socks

Pants

Bras

I'd advise against jeans, if they get wet they are heavy, uncomfortable and take forever to dry, whereas leggings and tights dry quickly. If it's hot they can get uncomfortable too.

As everyone has said above leave the jeans at home!! They are the worst thing to take to a festival, if it rains they take ages 2 dry and rub :D Leggings with skirts/dresses/shorts are the way forward, i wear them with just plain vest tops and one of the thin cardigans you can get from places like topshop. Suits both weather then as if its really hot just take the leggins and cardy off and there small enough to be scrunched up in your bag. I also take one sparkly party dress for if im in the mood 2 dress up :D

edit: and lots of lots of long socks to avoid wellie rub!

I take leggings and cropped jeans, short skirts and opaque bright tights (to wear at night)

Variety of vest tops and t shirts short and long sleeved, a fleece and a rainmac that fits on over the fleece.

Lots of leggings, jeans for cold evenings (but only if its dry, nightmare if wet/muddy), vest tops, and long vest tops/dresses, light t-shirts, long sleeved t-shirts for layering when it gets cold, hoodies for evening's, knee length socks. Also have a couple of skirts. One to wear with leggings and a longer layered number, but I'll need to watch this with the loo's :D .

Also, I personally cannot go anywhere without a couple of scarves (cotton, not necessarily knitted). Normally have them tied to my bag. As soon as it starts to get nippy its straight on, and makes all the difference.

I've lived every year at Glastonbury in jeans, including 2007 when it was miserable the whole weekend, and never have a problem with them, they don't chaffe.

But then I also decide there's no point in wearing anything clean after the first day as it's all just going to get wrecked! Having also lived through the 80s, I have an ingrained aversion to leggings so they are most definitely out too.

Take things for layering though, you'll really feel the benefit of it when it starts to get chilly at night. And it will do!

These are all v good suggestions, how about a pair of crocs? Comfy, not v stylish BUT if they get wet n muddy they rinse clean. Im thinking of driving down in my jeans, jumper n boots {cold, dry nighttime useage - wear the heavy stuff} Taking minimal, summery clothing in my rucksack and leaving a couple of sets of clothes in the car. Its gonna be top weather - we deserve it.
