How Thorough are the inspection on Campervans

Simple question, just wanting information on previous experiences.

Just to kick off, Yes me and some members of my party may be taking a few illegal substances to glasto. Before my head gets bit off and spat out accross all Shepton Mallet, lets be right, Its not really that uncommon is it?

Just wondering how thorough the inspections of the vehicles are, have there been sniffer dogs present etc. I presume there must be some kind of proceedure in place for searches as theyre is the Glass ban...

Any experiences?

Just back from the IOW and the sniffer dog presence there was very high !

Loads of people were getting hauled away for questioning / searches going into the main arena, a few people we spoke to were officially cautioned & were put on bail to appear in court in 60 days !

IF the dogs are just on duty and think you are carrying anything illegal then your chances of getting through are iffy ! ( I just waited until a few shiftier looking blokes were ahead of me and sailed past the doggies every day :angry: )

We have taken a campervan for the last few years, always asked about glass. Only on one year has a security guard asked to search the van, in doing so he knocked over the box we keep our plates & cutlery in, all his mates laughed so he confiscated our bread knife! Haven't noticed any sniffer dogs there but have also had bags searched on the gate to the festie.

We been last three years usally one security gets on board kwik look and ask if you any glass and gets off.

We usally arrive late night

Im not a user myself but if I were taking a stash to Glastonbury in my motorhome, I'd get up on the roof, put it in a bag and gaffer tape it up there. Doubt there going to send dogs up top.

I think that my outlook is... naughties are fine to smuggle in... after all, if its gonna harm anyone, its only yourself. Glass in no circumstances should be brought in... there's no need, and if its gonna harm anyone, (we've all smashed glass when pissed) it will be the cows. simples.

noone can say either way with any certainity...

In response to a post above, regarding the tiresome 'public forum' debate. The police wouldve had an action plan in place for this months ago,

reading this forum wont change their views whatsoever. They are Police Officers, therefore to be emloyed as one, they should be smart enough to realise people WILL be taking illegal subtances to glastonbury, and thats unfortunately just a fact.

The glass, plates etc have been removed from our camper so no problems there, In regards to everyone else thank you for your input.

Oh and we'll be avoiding the services at all costs!
