has anyone camped in big ground in recent years and can you enlghten me as to the pro's and cons. i'm coming to glastonbury with a couple of teenagers and would love to camp somewhere thats not too away from it all to be boring for them, but also not too bonkers for me as i'm quite mellow in my old age and do'nt want to be too ''in it'' ....you know what i mean. all opinions gratefully received.

We normally camp on big ground as it's really good access to the pyramid and you can watch bands from your camp if you want to. It;'s always been a really good atmos when we've been and a mix of ages. We are all pushing 30 and it's perfect for us! - plenty going on all night but not so noisy you don't get any sleep.

Only cons are it's far away form the park, greenfields and stone circle - the only one of those which bothers us is the park if we're wanting to see bands there, as you can wander round the others in your own time.

Agree about the pylons - avoid them! The constant buzzing is horrendous!

I agree with teh above, me and the Mrs are both "30 somethings" and we had a great time up there, plenty of decent folk around, good atmosphere in the day and at night there's chatting and chilling but nothing that keeps you from your kip.

Handy for the Fluching toilets too, which is nice.
