Shopping Trolleys / Trolley Service?

Hi guys

We fly into Exeter airport then get a private to coach to the festival. We plan to stop off at the nearest Tesco/Asda etc to get a few crates of beer each and some supplies.

Are you able to take shopping trolleys into the festival and can they fit through the turnstiles?

I've also heard that there a unregistered 'Glastonbury Trolley Service' (usually operated by kids) that offers to pull your stuff along for a small fee? Any truth in that?

Assuming that your being serious here the simple answer is that you've got no chance. Shopping trolleys are hard enough to push in a f**king supermarket never mind across a field the size of Glasto. Anything with wheels smaller than about six inches at least is going nowhere especially in the mud.

Oh and as for the Pikey comment. Not cool!

14 crates is not a problem at all. That works out to 14 * £50 = £700, but in line with the ethos of Glastonbury festival I'll do you a special festival deal of £695.

Why 14 trips you ask? Well the trolley may be strong but I'm not.

Seriously though it only takes about 50kg so would need more than one trip I expect. And even though I'm tempted to offer such a service it's unlikely that I will be in a fit state/could be arsed to fulfil my end of the contract.

I was actually joking with my original post, didn't expect a response so quick. Will perhaps think about this seriously next year once I know how the trolley performs. Obviously there will be a price rise due to inflation and the quickness in your reply.

Mind you I'd think you'd have to be mad to pay a guy £50 to use his £35 trolley. May as well just buy one yourself.

Nice young chap helped us with our swag last year, wheelbarrow from The Park to Big Ground. Bunged him a tenner, generous yes, but there was no way I could be bothered going all the way to the other side of the site sans his assistance.

That and sack trolleys and pallet wrap, festie lugging combo du jour
