Can I park west (red route) if coming from London?

I normally arrive Thursday morning and end up walking across the site to the Family camping near Hitchin Hill.

Anyone got a route that will avoid being directed to the east side car parks?

Yep, we do it every year. We come down on the A303 and keep on it until the A372 and then take the first right onto the B3151 through Street to Glastonbury. You can then join the A361 which takes you to the site from the West ensuring you hit the west car parks. We arrive early Thurs morning as well and usually straight in with no queues around 8am

Yep... I've the same issue, and would come down through Shepton and on to the A361. However, getting out of the Carpark on the monday from the west is soooooooo much easier, that the walk is worth it.

If you check out Glasto Earth, it cleary shows which roads run into which colour routes.

There is a split in the road on the A371 that either takes you to East (blue) or West (red/orange/yellow)

If you use Sat-Nav for directions coming from Glastonbury town and the M5, the postcode of the west carparks is BA6 8NE. From the A303/ A37, the postcode of the east carparks is BA4 6TA.

We've parked both sides several times and have always found the West (red) route much much quicker to get out of - have to get back to Kent so same direction as you. Depends on what time you want to leave too as to how easy is it to get out.
