Travelling from London on train

Have discovered that you can get to Chelmsford cheaper if you buy a ticket for Colchester or Norwich instead (then just get off at Chelmsford). I checked Thetrainline.com for V weekend and found:

Liverpool St - Chelmsford £12.20 single

Liverpool St - Colchester or Norwich £8.00 single

Its exactly the same train company, same train, same line same time so I've no idea why its dearer for the shorter journey. I can only think that the train company are trying to rip off festival goers.

No they just like to rip everyone off, not just festival goers - trust me I use them everyday.

Just check that the ticket will still let you through the barrier at Chelmsford, i've tried it at other stations with my season ticket and it doesn't work (or sneak out the side exit of the station :P )
