Kowalski
Forecast looks great, therefore is it possible to remain in trainers or will the ground still cut up? I've only currently got trainers or wellies and I don't fancy traipsing round in wellies if its 24 degrees. (Glasto virgin)
briddj
You won't need wellies if the forecast remains as is. You'd be better off with decent heavy duty trainers though and not flimsy things.

Phil-itfc
last 2 or 3 festi's (tho this is my first Glasto) I've taken a pair of trainers and also a pair of canvas type that I'd have had for a few months by that point so were comming up to retirement. I pretty much wear the canvas ones until they are unwearable and chuck them away (or donate them) at the end of the festi.

Laura_Babs
When it is raining/has been raining,I live in my wellies. But I always have a couple of pairs of comfy flip flop things too, just in case it is sunny. Always make sure they are comfy and well worn in as well though! Neville Street
Crocs, wellies in the car. Was going to take my Birks but same "toe fear" as the earlier poster Crocs also better for those wet bits near the taps, etc., although then they get slippy. Also a pair of shoes for night time/early morning when it is a bit chillier.
themuel
100% flip flops. Thats what I wear all year round. Glastonbury is no exception!! I do have wellies if the unthinkable happens of course.
Mr_Grump
Walking boots & gaiters, walking shoes & a pair of trainers for me - looks like walking shoes most of the time but I get the feeling my boots & gaiters will be coming out on Friday/Saturday
Octave Doctor
Always. always.always - decent walking boots/ decent socks - its a farm and massive to hike anywhere in wellies or trainers. If it turns sour then add the goretex gaiters. If its really dry it can be a hazard too - trainers just arent made for hiking. Having said that if you just want to stay in one place you may get away with it...

HurrahBrother
If it goes glorious, crocs or sandles of some sort would be the best. I have packed mine (Croc copies) with my wellies, also a pair of lightweight canvas 'pumps' and my real crocs (no holes, lace up version), so I have everything covered footware wise. themuel
Now come on, You don't really hike at Glastonbury do you...It's more of a bimble...So much to do and see on the way everywhere...I have been going since 1992 and only ever had trainers or more recently crocs in addition to wellies, I am a very big girl carrying lots of weight and my feet have never suffered because I didn't have proper hiking boots... mimis
Whilst I am a total flip flop lover... past Glasto experiences have taught me to always have 3 types of shoe: Wellies/mud appropriate footwear Flip flops/open toed non-boot closed toe shoe - the 3rd being vital in some areas of the fest, or for where there has been mud but it's not dried out yet, flip flop mishaps can be painful and annoying! (but are a good excuse to buy new shoes at the markets)
