Speedy exit on Monday morning

Does anybody have any experience of getting taxis out of Glastonbury?

My dilemma is that on Monday me and my friends are going from Glasto directly to France - we're all working at the festival so leaving for there on Tues, but the car has broken and needs to get fixed while we're away. This means that one person has to leave on Mon morning, and get from Glastonbury to Oxford for the car and then back down south again for the ferry. Shift finishes at 8am, and I'm not happy relying on the shuttlebus queue and then shuffling around at Castle Cary - current plan is taxi to Frome where there's another train station (expensive, I know). So, can my friend just hop in a taxi, or will there be horrific queues/ traffic jams, etc? If this is gonna be the case, it might be more sensible to retrieve the car midweek.

Another alternative is walking to Shepton Mallet (5miles ish) and taxi from there... So, any hints for leaving quickly?

If you prebook a taxi it shouldn't take too long. I left last year and walked out to the nearby layby where taxis run from. I just got a number from one of the cabs collecting people. called and booked one. Took a while to arrive, maybe about an hour as I hadn't prebooked, but took me and someone I met there to Bath. Probably do the same again this year.
