thelizardking
I thought it was okay, but varied, certain tapped seemed to taste better than others, however i was vomiting when i got home but that could of been due to food/too much drink etc, but having said that, my friends had much of the same food as I... Best just to buy bottled water
irons
I topped my water bottle up in the campsite (Dairy Field), it tasted and looked fine.
angelheaded hipster
i think people make too much of a fuss about this personally, most of the bottled water trade is a rip off, fair enough if you're not in the vincinity as a sink, but a lot of people snobbishly only drink bottled water. the water as glasto is classified as safe to drink so unless you are really sensitive to the taste, getting bottles and bottles everyday is just a waste of money. at the risk of sounding like a campaigner or something, there's people in less well off countries than ours who are happy enough to have a tap in their village, let alone have several in their home that have clean running water thats been treated for bugs and diseases etc.
cejx
I was fortunate not to have experienced any of the white water on Friday morning though! Must have used a different tap that day, or slept in a bit later (likely )!
dakyras
Just to add to this, don't drink the water in the campervan fields. It's all ELSAN, even the sinks that aren't marked. I made the mistake of attempting to drink some from an unmarked sink, I was dieing from carrying stuff from car in the scorching heat! LusciousLucy
I was fortunate not to have experienced any of the white water on Friday morning though! Must have used a different tap that day, or slept in a bit later (likely )! the white water is only tiny airbubbles. nothing to worry about. I get it in the taps at home all the time. ferraristu
The water in Campervan fields was terrible !!!!!! You would not have got sick from it though - SO MUCH CHLORINE ! Took me about 4 full rinses of the caravan system to get rid of the taste when I got home - will take a few cases of bottled water next year. Mind you, coming from Liverpool, we are spoilt with our North Wales / Lake District water supply Edited September 5, 2009 by ferraristu
Rufus Gwertigan
i find the water at english festivals to be pretty poor compared to the scottish ones. it is drinkable though.
grumpyhack
In the past we've camped in Home Ground - just round the corner from the 24 hour cafe and Radio Avalon - and the water has always been fine. Maybe being on the other side of the site it comes from a different source. Next year we'll be trailer tenting so I'm a bit concerned about the comments on water on that side. Looks like we'll have to fill up before we set off from home. Incidentally not all spring water is wonderful. We live half way up a mountain and used to have our water from a spring. But they planted fir trees all over the top of the mountain which meant that the water became very acid and used to attack the copper in the pipes in the house. We went through two hot water tanks and had quite a lot of central heating leaks. We're actually better off now we are on mains. Our water now comes down from the Brecon Beacons and is great. iMediums
Would it not be alright to drink if you boiled it beforehand & left to cool?
ShadyBlueBell
I am planning fill up empty bottles with the tap water for general drinking throughout the day. I am sure the water is safe to drink, but is it drinkable or loaded up with chlorine.
Freewheelin
The water's fine and is tested constantly, throughout the site for the duration of the festival by Environmental health bods. We've found taking a couple of water containers, leaving them to stand for a while, then using/filling them in rotation, usually means the chemical/chlorine taste reduces. Fill up your smaller bottles from these before you go for a trek!
