Flags?

I have also been looking into getting a flag for my tent this year. Unsure if it'd be nicked/torched though!

There is a big thread on the Glastonbury forum about them with helpful hints and tips, here: /index.php?showtopic=114331">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.p...howtopic=114331

And and old thread with more flag making tips here: http://archive.efestivals.co.uk/forums/ind...l=Flag%20making

Flags are banned in the arena this year, but should be fine in the campsite.

We have used a tent pole before. Spareones only cost a couple of quid to buy. We have had one flag stolen and one attempt. The stolen one was because we had a christmas camp and some kids nearby took exception to it becuase they were being camp Christmas! A little too childish for me to get overly worked up about!

This is a rather worrying turn of events for as much as I agree with limiting the annoying buggers who stand stage centre & wave it about on a short pole so anyone behind or slighty to either side can't see anything other than whatever 'design' they've humouressly etched on their spare bed sheet I do use ours as a point of reference for friends & myself when relocating our group after a drink / food / toilet run. We don't base ourselves near the stage & have a big long 12 foot pole which doesn't obscure anyones view so if the above quote is true then we'll have go back to resorting to picking out landmarks in bid to return to the same spot. Which as anyone knows, especially after a long day drinking in the sun can be very much hit & miss! :)

After reading the Glasto forum I'm quite glad flags are banned from the arena this year as they do block your view (despite how funny/cool some are). Although, it's a bit hypocritical coming from a 6"5 bloke :P

Thanks for the replies.

I only want mine for the camp site to be able to find my tent. Ive never seen the appeal of hauling a tent around the arena all day. Pretty pointless if you ask me lol

I prefer my hands to be free to hold more beers
