Who says it's underserved? You... big deal. Many others too... so what? Why not just accept that you don't like him, and others do. It's not a big deal. There's a strong un-written tone to everything you're saying which seems to imply that the people who like him are stupid. You won't actually say that, because that would be too silly... but you might as well.

:lol::lol:

Comedy genius: "There's a strong un-written tone to everything you're saying which seems to imply that the people who like him are stupid"

FFS, where do you get off at trying to undermine my clear and straightforwards opinion? I think Bruce is shit. That's it. Nothing more.

If that makes you feel stupid, that's your doing and not mine. :)

Pleasingly, I'm able to cope with your opinion being different to my own without that difference making me feel stupid. :)

Yes, I say it's undeserved.

There's no "so what". It's my opinion. Just like your opinions are your opinions.

FFS. What it is about some people? Don't they get that their opinions are like other's opinions, and that other's opinions are like their opinions?

FFS, it's like re-doing the first day of school. Do you need me to show you where you hang your coat? Do you need a hand going to the lavatory too?

are you saying you think those songs are bland/boring anyway (not just as a festival 'set')? I mean that's what he does.... I thought Prove It was fantastic, it usually is. I like his guitar playing, and it's one of his chances to shine

Nobody who's said he should have done a more festival friendly set has given any indication of what songs he could have done. Apart from Hungry Heart and BITUSA, almost anything else would have been just as unfamiliar

:) ... yea, right

You should try reading back what you've said, and just for a second, imagine that it wasn't you who'd written it, and objectivley think about it

What I should have said is that the Bruce morons who are unable to accept that huge numbers thought him exceedingly bland on Saturday should be taken outside, lined up against the wall and shot.

Life would be so much easier that way.

just thought I'd show some solidarity for Mr eFestivals man (is it Neil?) - i'm with you bud.

let all be friends people :)

Remember if it was not for our opinions the world would be a very boring place.

I do believe you have a very good point there. :)

Meanwhile, some Bruce fans would rather have the world as that boring place.

Funny that, eh? I can see a theme.:lol::):)

Bruce morons... there you go..

you know what Neil, I've been as reasonable as possible throughout this, but really, if there's any more room up your arse, can you shove IT up there

:)

If you'd been paying proper attention, you'd have seen me carefully explain that the Bruce morons are the morons that have been telling me stuff like I'm "ignorant" for not liking Bruce, that I've lied about the responses I got from asking people what they thought, that he can't be bland cos "just look at these lyrics he's written" and all the other stupid and pathetic things that have been thrown my way for daring to have an opinion different to theirs.

So.... stand at the back for the rest of the lesson, and detention with 150 lines.:lol:

as has been pointed out all the way throughout this thread, the punters who like him have no problem at all acknowledging that many people don't like him. Go on, find the odd example that proves your point, and carry on bleating the same mantra

"Odd example"? :lol::lol:

As this thread has shown, many of those that like him DO have a problem accepting that some people don't like him.

oooh look, I think I might be getting the hang of this

Care to show me where I've even remotely suggested that I have a problem with anyone liking him?

The thing with music tastes is that its not like saying "I don't like fish" or "I prefer the colour red to blue". If you really like an act and somebody else says that they are shit, then that person thinks your music taste is shit. Thus they are pretty much insulting your intelligence. There is no other way to take it really. Either we decide that there is such thing as good music and bad music (and thus have such thing as bad music tastes and good music tastes) or we decide what music people like is just random (like food preferences) and there is no such thing as good music or bad music.

Since I'm pretty sure everyone would agree there is such thing as good and bad music, then that means that you must think less of someone's music taste if they like a band that you think are bad.

So in this case, Neil thinks Springsteen is bland, thus he must think that people who like Springsteen must have a lesser music taste than himself. Therefore what he is saying to all the Bruce-fans is "I think you have bad music taste", and since music taste is related to intelligence it is similar to saying "You are stupid".

And so I can understand the reactions of the Bruce-fans, as if someone said I was stupid, I certainly wouldn't want to just accept that I was.

That's the problem with music, tastes aren't arbitary and by saying you don't like someone, then you have to accept that you will be insulting someone in the process.

You're ignorant becuase you said it was a shit gig even though you werent there. :)

You're also ignorant because you said it was a shit gig because of other people you spoke to. I, like everyone should, make up my own mind about things.

Oh look, a first-timer Bruce moron poster. Welcome to you and your made up stories. :)

Perhaps you've also made up your opinion that Bruce is good out of nothing too? :)

Except I haven't once said "it was a shit gig" or anything close - even tho I was there. :)

I said "Bruce is bland". Because IMO he is.

I asked others what they thought. With a huge majority, those I asked also thought it poor/bland.

And funnily enough, not one of those other opinions I heard made a blind bit of difference to my own, just as the Bruce morons here aren't changing my mind one bit about Bruce (tho they are changing my opinion of his fans ).

And interesting view, tho not one I subscribe to. But if I did ..... there's an equal flip-side.

And that flip-side is of course that by saying that Bruce is good when I think him shit, the people who think him good are insulting my intelligence just as much as I might be insulting theirs.

And so this view is not any rationally sustainable view.

ermmm...let me think....

most of this thread??

Thanks you so very much for 100% proving that you're a fantasist who is making stuff up to try and undermine a view of Bruce that you cannot accept. Wear your Bruce moron badge with pride.

Yeah, imagine if he had’ve dropped Promised Land, Working on a Dream, Outlaw Pete, Prove it All Night, Hard Times, Land of Hope and Dreams, My Lucky Day and Raise your Hand and instead played Tenth Avenue/Jungleland/Spirit in the Night/Growin Up/Rosalita/Ramrod/Atlantic City/Racing in the Street/Im on Fire/Murder Incorporated.

Is that gig then literally ten times better? I think so.

I havent given an opinion on the gig really. I couldnt care less what people think of him. I simply said you were ignorant, as below. Im not defending Bruce here, Im simply pointing out one of the most ignorant posts I've ever seen.

Yes you have (see below), "hugely over-rated crap" is close, no?

You were there, for 1 song.

The "hugely over-rated crap" was a comment on Bruce as a whole, not specifically the gig.

I was there for two songs (I started weaving my way out of the crowd during the second), and heard more than those two songs.

What I heard of the gig confirmed my opinion of him from on recordings. Sometimes acts are very different when they play live, but Bruce wasn't.

Get over it.
