micawber
You've spent the last few pages banging on about this - who said it? I've just gone through the first ten pages or so (to where you first start banging on about how everybody is persecuting you and nobody is letting you have your own opinion) and I can't find a single person who says that you can't have your opinion or that said opinion is worth less than theirs. Any chance you could point me in the direction of the post(s) that seem to have got you so angry?
benissright
Can i just ask, was the 5 minutes you saw "coma girl". Because i think it would be a bit weird to judge the gig on a tribute to joe strummer which acted as a prelude to the entire gig.
Iain333
I'm going to track back from what I said on the start of this thread, I havn't been copnverted at all. I only actually enjoyed The River which I thought was very goo apart from that I was half asleep on the couch. Would have been at Jarvis Cocker or 2manydjs myself. eFestivals
Can i just ask, was the 5 minutes you saw "coma girl". Because i think it would be a bit weird to judge the gig on a tribute to joe strummer which acted as a prelude to the entire gig. I saw/heard the first two songs. As I said much much earlier in this thread I'll happily admit that less than two soings isn't really enough to be able to properly judge an act from all perspectives; however, it was more than enough to judge him from my own perspective - I know I wouldn't have found him any more enjoyable if I'd have stayed watching him for weeks. He was - simply - blandly dire.
pedmills
10 of the songs on Springsteen's set were on his last Greatest Hits compliation He played 25 in total. thats 10/25 = 40% Neil Young had 7/16 = 43% Blur had 14/24 = 58% So there isn't a huge difference in hits-to-nonhits ratio for Springsteen. eFestivals
jeez Neil. Is that it, is that the 'lie' ffs, the times you tell people not to get so upset over nothing, and you consider that to be me lying gawd help us Is what you state true? Nope. So it's a lie. It's you inventing a scenario to try and shoot the messenger of a message you don't like. You choosing to lie. Why do you think it's OK for you to get upset at a message you don't like, but not me getting upset at you inventing that lie? The person getting upset over nothing is you. You're upset at being called a liar despite you lying. If you don't want to be called a liar which clearly upsets you then don't lie. Yes, it is that simple. pedmills
But surely you cant compare. As how well known the Bruce 'hits' are compared to the 'Blur' hits is very different. This I think was part of the issue for Bruce, regarless of what singles he has had in this country, he (or his music to be precise) is just not well known enough! Red Day
I went to see Ed Byrne and the Wonderstuff instead but could tell from a distance that the Buss was crap. So glad I didn't listen to all the obsessives on here and waste five minutes of my time. Neil, you deserve top Kudos for suffering that dreary git for a couple of songs. Mates who went to see him managed to catch up on some ZZZZZZZZ's though

eFestivals
It isn't a lie. I can understand how you see it as a lie, because you don't understand how your posts on this thread, claimimg we're all morons, liking bland music, being somehow blind to the truth that Bruce is over-rated crap etc, is you not being able to accept that lots of punters enjoyed his set it's hard to know that you're upset when you end most of your posts with See, you're at it again? You just won't give up with the lies, will you? Have I called all ruce fans morons? No. Not once. But you're determined to keep on posting lies. Have I said "you all like bland music"? No. I've said I find Bruce bland. But you're determined to keep on posting lies. Have I said "you're blind to the truth that Bruce is over-rated crap". No. I've said I find Bruce to be over-rated crap. But you're determined to keep on posting lies. Have I said I refuse to accept that lots of punters enjoyed his set? No. See below for the proof of me saying the exact opposite (from my 5th post in this thread). But you're determined to keep on posting lies. It seems to be the case that Bruce is only able to speak to the already converted I'm laughing at your moronic and deliberate stupid lies. Get over it. Monkismo
This whole debate's winding me up. If people already know they don't like Bruce's music why did they bother to go? Its not as if you need to see him to listen to his music if you're curious as there's so many ways to listen to stuff these days. People should do their research and stop their bitching! eFestivals
Im just surprised you even went to see him. I'm prepared to give any act a chance - and I gave Bruce multiple chances, via buying his latest CD which I hate, yet still thought he might be a different proposition live .... but I found him not to be. This is why, when some morons here have said that I was determined to hate him I'm getting so pissed off. I *KNOW* that I can approach acts with an open mind and give them a fair chance. Now, some might say that a fair chance would have been me staying there for the whole set. But who really stands and watches an act for two and half hours that they're finding totally dreadful? Certainly not the people who've been having a pop at me here.
LRW
Its the same situation for Neil Young, yet no one complained about him not playing his hits. Conclusion: Neil Young performed better.

Some acts can be significantly different live to what they are on record. And because of Bruce's huge reputation, I was presuming that this must be the case with him because I find him as bland as it gets on record. Sadly, I found him to be identical live. But I guess I'd be getting everyone's approval if I was as narrow minded as some of them clearly are.

eFestivals
I think you missed this one Neil. I understand that you're a busy boy and you have lots of angry people to shout at, but if you could find the post where posters say that you opinion is not worth as much as theirs it would be much appreciated. It's in this thread. If you can't be bothered to find it then I can't either; I'm more than bored with all this.

Wooderson
Is it my mind playing tricks, or were the two 'soulful' sax solos in each of those first two songs? Yuk.
