P.S. Watched the first 3 minutes of the Godfather last night and then turned it off. Shite film.

Yeah, ive heard over the years that Pulp Fiction was a solid enough film. I had my doubts. Threw on the first 3 minutes of it last night. Fu cking credits were rolling the whole time.

Rubbish - as I expected.

Turned it off and threw on Ed Byrne live in Drumshambo (cooler than thou bootleg) - sparked a fattie and sat back to watch a real master at work.

Chuffed with myself.

I believe he is a marmite act indeed, and I know that opinion of his set is divided, however there certainly wasn't a mass exodus from the pyramid as you are implying.

there were certainly far fewer at the end than at the start. There were also a huge number that came and went again while he played.

If he was all some claim, that wouldn't have happened, just as it hasn't happened in that way for plenty of other acts over the years. :)

By the way, what is the point of saying that 5 minutes out of a 3 hour set is boring? It's just a stupid thing to say really.

That 5 minutes was plenty enough to confirm to me that Bruce is no different live to what he is on record* - to me, either is as bland and as boring as it gets.

(* plenty of acts are, so I was giving him a fair chance. A fair chance wouldn't need me to suffer three hours tho).

But I guess you'd suffer a whole set of an ant you clearly disliked from the off, just so no one could say such a thing as this to you, eh? :lol::lol:

But the fact remains: I'd have been bored out of my skull if I'd stayed. I don't need to sit thru the whole set of an act I find extremely bland to realise that.

But hey, I bet you buy tickets all of the time to go see acts you detest, and stay till the very last note every single time. :P:P

Is my knowledge of Springsteen just that five minues, or do I have thirty+ years exposure to his blandness, and so know enough to know it would be more of the same? :P

I went to see him on the basis that he's a claimed fantastic performer, and because of that I'd hoped that live there was more to him than there is on record. Five minutes was plenty for me to realise that there isn't.

(And, a few online listen backs of parts I didn't see have further confirmed this for me).

Not everyone likes Bruce. Get used to it. :P
