Fence and tracks

The Super Fence was developed in conjunction with GFL as a solution to the gatecrashing problem which came to a head in 2000 and was going to stop Glastonbury Festival getting a licence for 2002. Meanfidler were brought in at the same time to take over operational control of things like security so they probably had a hand in it too.

Ultimately it would be too expensive for GFL to build and pay for this themselves, but it would also be a huge waste of a valuable resource to just use it once a year. Having it designed, built and operated by a 3rd party company meant it could be used at other events with the costs shared by everyone who uses it.

Anyone else think that Eve Trakway might be a Eavis side project? He seams like a shrewd investor so probably has a few shares at least.

the fence is also used at reading/leeds and radio 1's big weekend.

there's probably more festivals and events its used at.

as said above it wouldn't be economically viable to not hire it out when its not being used at glastonbury.
