And we’re off! ‘Channel Zoo’ - genuinely one of the most anticipated summer sessions of 2009 - hits the ground running tonight. Over summer 09, this party will showcase some of Europe’s most exceptional labels to the most open and down to earth crowd on the island. Unlike other Ibizan nights, Channel Zoo offers something different every week as at each event the channel is switched to showcase the best labels around.

The first label selected to fly the Channel Zoo flag is Crosstown Rebels along with Birmingham promoter’s Below. The bleeding edge Crosstown sound breeds on creativity and alternative sounds to the norm (as spun by Bug, Lawler, Tiefschwartz), and will ooze from a sharp sound system into the open air at the Zoo - a rare thing in Ibiza now. At this fantastic venue you can drip into the seal pit-cum-swimming pool; flow round the bars of the old animal cages, and eventually settle in the ears of those ever enthusiastic and often dressed-up clubbers.

As if one of electronic music’s sharpest and most respected underground labels wasn’t enough, the professional production extends to a barbeque, VJ show, dancers, the beloved Minx FX and short film showings. So a bit about the artists set in place to provide the Channel Zoo soundtrack:

Jamie Jones is a Brit with a slew of massive underground hits behind him, all fleeting between sublime, rich house music, kicky tech house and the sort of rooted minimal with which he made his name after releasing 2006’s biggest summer tune in ‘Amazon’. Fabric loves him, as does anyone with an ear for underground sounds from the deep.

Seth Troxler is on fire right now. And that’s a fact. His lean towards Detroit brings with it some essential techno; emotive soul and darn right class. He can be playful with rare house and unique grooves, and dark with sultry vocals and bottom end growl, but either way there’s always an air of cool - and a requirement to dance - in a Troxler set, or production, alike

Adam Shelton runs Birmingham’s latest and greatest warehouse party, Below. He books house and tech talent on the rise, peppering their appearances with top established artists from the electronic scene. His sound is a slice of what he serves up to clubs through the medium of others, and will provide on-point back up.

Channel Zoo is Ibiza’s only festival-style label showcase and in a time where clubbers are looking for something a little bit different, we say let the showcase begin!

Tickets: Pre-sale - €25.00 / €40:00
